Can a 60D be uncorked?

i dont....if its avail for a 60d then yes they should offer it to 60d people as well. Making them upgrade to get it is low rent.

I had a 60D and when I reached out to my delivery adviser/specialist (forgot the term) to ask if I get "uncorked" as a 60D...he replied with instructions to upgrade to a 75D. He didn't explicitly say I had to upgrade to 75D, but it seemed like he was inferring it.

Anyhow, upgraded to 75D last week. Called my local service center today for appointment. She asked me when exactly I upgraded and I told her 4 days ago. She said that "should be enough time for the VIN check to be updated". She had me on hold for some nervous moments while she checked...then came back on the phone to schedule the appointment! So unless something unexpected happens when I get there, it looks like I'll be uncorked later this week. Didn't need the range (and was kind of proud of how well I could road trip with a 60) but definitely wanted the performance. So I upgraded. Maybe later down the road (perhaps) they will offer the uncorking to un-upgraded 60D owners. But on the other hand, maybe not. Or if they do, it could be a relatively long wait. I also figured that it does bump the resale value somewhat and having the extra range will allow some additional flexibility on a road trip (maybe skip the 15 minute Gilroy top-off on my way to SoCal for example). I'm excited!

My car was uncorked yesterday. Wow, what a difference. I previous thought I didn't need it, now I do! It is not just the standing still start, the car feels it has shed at least 1000 lbs at all speed. Even autopilot pinned me to the seat back a couple of times when the car in front switched lanes. I think it needs to be trained to take it easy.

Yea well currently this is what it is - if you want uncork you pay up... Or if you don't agree with the current situation, you are more than welcomed to wait it out. Perhaps it will be offered to 60D or the range upgrade price is further reduced. It could happen next month or next year and of course maybe never. The choice is yours... Like you said it's something you get for being a Tesla owner. The future is full of uncertainty but you know what is being offered NOW.

its not like in a year or 2 when one can still unlock at whatever price that they WONT also uncork it...i mean that would be rediculous.

no..not trolling...maybe negative but 90k is alot of $$ to us and 2k for an update of 40 miles if that is alot too. I like the cars concept and drive just usually try to see other sides of things and many times it can be a negative vibe. Sorry for that but many times i tend to say whats on some peoples minds but they never say it for fear of scorn or being politically incorrect.

One of my colleagues has an S60D. Just paid the $2000 for the upgrade to S75D and got the uncorking (all during a routine service visit). He says it is really a dramatic improvement and well worth the $$.

How is everyone getting 0-60 times and HP numbers on the tracking spreadsheet? Are you doing a dyno before and after? Or is the service center providing the measurements? I am hopeful since I see someone on the list that took delivery a month before me and uses the same service center with same VIN lot. X-mas present coming, why not

we will see soon if the uncorking is avail for a new build feb/march/2017 s 60d..now 75d(2 days ago) is eligible. Taking to SC within the week for other issues and will have them uncork it(if it can be). Gf just wanted to see what the tax would be on the upgrade and it just processed the upgrade without another screen that says..are you sure? and gives a total. Looks like its 2k and no tax here is what her cc was charged. She didnt really want tlo do it but was seeing what the tax would be but i guess there is no total screen that acts to submit order like on other sites like amazon.

Well wanted to see if/what tax would be but how its set up is there is no final charge screen-do you want to proceed screen like most buy online apps/stores.

I just had my ‘16 Model S 60D unlocked to 75D and uncorked. Totally worth the $2K (the uncorking, I don’t really need the extra range). It’s quite a noticeable improvement. The weather hasn’t cooperated, but when it does, I’ll do a timed 0-60 to see what I get after the uncorking. I was getting 5.2ish before the uncork.
