It appears Tesla is telling people there's no Charlotte deliveries anymore even though they are still doing Charlotte deliveries (according to some recent posts in this thread). The motive - convert as many to home delivery as possible to maximize 3rd quarter deliveries. Don't be surprised if Charlotte becomes magically active again after end of 3rd quarter.

I also got a call on Monday that they will be doing home delivery I was scheduled to pick the car up in Charlotte on 9/22
I have heard nothing more from them regarding the delivery. My Tesla home page still shows to pickup on 9/22. Guess I will wait and see.
Do you have a trade-in? Based on a conversation I had with Tesla, it sounds like those who have a trade-in may continue to do showroom deliveries, based on the increased complexity and need for notarized documents. Emphasis placed on may continue...

I have a Sept 29th Charlotte delivery scheduled, with a trade-in. Waiting to hear if it will remain as is, or change to something else. Haven't been by the showroom since Sunday, so not sure if my car is in Charlotte at this point, or still enroute.

I need to get my title and POA notarized and sent to Raleigh ASAP... however I think you’re on to something as i have no trade in and i’m paying cash....

Someone go by there and count how many AWD Silvers with aero's they have sitting around. Im still waiting on one and was told yesterday there are only a couple people on the list in front of me... Day 1 with June 30th order... no changes to the order.

I have a trade in. I was told I can take it to Raleigh to do the trade in prior to my home delivery date but I can not do delivery center pickup of the car as all deliveries in NC are now home deliveries.

Stopped by the showroom today and saw my car for the first time! Looks quite dirty, and had a few minor paint/scratch issues that look like they can be buffed out. It had a layer of dust/dirt on it, so it wasn't easy to determine if there are other paint issues, but it looked good overall. I have a scheduled delivery of Sept 29th...sent my delivery specialist a note to see if we can pull delivery earlier, but not holding my breath. While it was nice to see it, its a double edged sword as it hasn't yet been prepped for delivery.

In need of support and advice.

My delivery was scheduled for today at 6pm from Charlotte.

Last night, Brandon from the local Charlotte office called with bad news. My Tesla arrived yesterday but got into an accident on the lot, with extensive damage to the front and passanger side. It needs to go to the body shop but he's afraid it can't be fixed (didn't give specifics. I assume because of availability of parts). He's recommending I get matched with another car and thinks he can find one at a hub (Alabama or Georgia). He also doesn't have ETA on any of this.

Whats sad is he said "I've never seen this configuration before"... White on white, EAP, Aero, AWD.

I'm so bummed. This is would have been my third delivery attempt.

I know it's just "stuff", and stuff can be replaced, but I'm having serious remorse.

When he calls me with the plan (I presume today), What should I do or ask for? I'm seriously thinking of canceling everything and asking for all funds back (it's been paid in full). Pretty sure I can put $62k to better work for me. Or, what can they do to compensate me for time and money? Car payments are coming without a car. Can they throw in stuff? Like free supercharging, Full self drive (already paid for EAP), free upgrade to the performance model without the performance package, straight up cash?

I need ideas and suggestions. Help!

That sucks. Sorry you are going through this. I am pretty sure you can put $62k to better use as well, but that could be said about everything we spend money on other than the bare necessities. Do you live in a house? Do you own it? Pretty sure you could have bought a smaller/less expensive house and put the delta to better use. Sorry for the lecture, but if you made an informed decision when you decided to buy it, chances are that is still the right decision, regardless of the small setback. Many people have gone through similar delays, and while unfortunate, you should be glad that they want to match you to another car rather than sell you a brand new car that has had extensive body work done. As for compensating you for the delay....I've got no advice there. It does suck that we have to pay for the car upfront in Charlotte, but complain to the bodies that put Tesla into that predicament, not Tesla. We all knew going into this that we would have to pay for the car upfront. I personally don't think they owe you anything other than understanding, empathy, and a firm commitment to be as transparent as possible in resolving your issue as expeditiously as possible. It does suck and I feel your pain....hope I don't end up in the same situation. Good luck, keep us posted...and hopefully one day we will pull up beside each other at a light, look over, and both have big ass grins on our face....

The only thing I can say is the car is awesome and 5 months and 10,100 miles later it still delivers the Tesla grin in Spades. Hang in there.

PS I too got my car in Charlotte.

My coworker is going to let me test drive his rwd model 3 at lunch today. Hoping that will brighten my spirits.

I've never driven or ridden in one. Only sat in one months ago for about 5 minutes.
