Oh man. I have a white LR that was supposed to be delivered weekend of the 15th- nobody is giving me any info. I’ve called, texted, left VMs. Even cornered them on the orientation call. All I get is “someone will contact you” or “call this number” which then leads to a “email this person”. Super frustrating...
who's your SA? Mine is Jasmine. I've sent her ~4 messages over ~8 weeks and she's been ignoring me the last two weeks. My LR MY 7 seat is being delivered to Dedham and I have gotten no replies about my estimate. I ordered 3/28

Called Tesla Westmont and the delivery specialist said I don't have a VIN assigned yet (my account dashboard still shows 2-6 weeks from order date, so not surprising I guess). He also said that the software update is rolling out in batches, so not all of their cars have been updated yet. So once another batch have been updated, another wave of VINs go out. Which may explain why not all the cars on the lot were matched and scheduled for pick-up/delivery.

I'm just hoping it happens soon because of I've got some extra time off around the Memorial Day weekend, and then no time off when the baby comes around June 15th 😳

I am very sick of the bullshit canned responses we get from Tesla, both over email and over the phone. Like, I know you're making deliveries and assigning VINs to people in my state with similar configs. Quit the bullshit and tell me why I'm further back in line than they are

Agreed ... though my SA has been pretty responsive and honest. His last timing update was basically we're waiting for word from headquarters (this was just prior to vision autopilot news) and then hopefully we can start getting cars out to you all.

He hasn't mislead or overpromised thus far.

LOL

In contrast, I was a hanging with a friend who had ordered a new BMW motorcycle. He could tell you exactly what day it was to be produced, once production was scheduled, he received the VIN, and could make changes anytime up until that day. After production, was then given the name of the ship it was on by the dealer, and could track it via public GPS.

I sort of envisioned this type of deal with consistent updates for the Tesla. Maybe expected too much? Anyways, i'm honestly soured by this part of the experience.

Still excited to get the car, 100% ready to go EV....lets not mince words, but the original shine of the demo and purchase experience has been dulled somewhat by this. I think It could easily be better.

And. Im sure Ill forget ALL about it once our "butts hit the seats" (assuming that happens within two weeks, to stay within my original timeline)

Drove by my closest SC in Plano TX and there are Model Ys left and right. I want mine! 😭
Same. I drove past earlier today and saw the parking lots at and around the SC filled with model Y's.

I also got a text yesterday asking me to confirm if I wanted still wanted to take delivery in June and that my vin would be assigned in 1-5 weeks. Hopefully they assign one of those to me soon.

Nah. Why would they do that? They're not in the customer service game.
Its very unlikely - but i have been doing the "ctrl+u" but and looking at the source code. there is a lot of gibberish inside that says stuff like this:

:"Add Autopilot","addAfterDelivery":"$5,300 if added after delivery","addAfterDeliveryBase":"$4,000 if added after delivery","addAfterDeliveryFsd":"$10,600 if added after delivery","addBaseAutoPilot":"Yes, add Autopilot ($0). Your pricing will be updated. I acknowledge I will not be able to make any further changes to my vehicle.","addEnhancedAutoPilot":"Add enhanced autopilot","addFullSelfDriving":"Yes, add Full Self-Driving ($10,600). Your pricing will be updated. I acknowledge I will not be able to make any further changes to my vehicle.","addFullSelfDrivingCTA"

Does anyone know what that means? I have no idea what the $5300 and $4000 stands for. Right now I can only add FSD for $10600 (CAD).

I know Tesla isnt a "hey we didnt give you a radar but here's an umbrella for ya" company - but for those who placed an order before May (or the release of the no-radar order page) - we did agree to buy a car with a radar and now there isnt one. I am just looking at things as a whole, like earlier orders not getting VIN, the gibberish in the source code, legal risks (minimal and I am sure they do not care), and giving myself shitty excuses for the delay - there isnt much else I can do except for being delusional and patient.

That's probably because BMW sold about 12k motorcycles in the US last year. Might make the production detail reliable and manageable enough to share with the customers. I would love to see something like that with Tesla, but as they produce more vehicles, the likelihood is diminishing. I think communication about the limitations of the system could be better, but I wonder if the production and delivery process could truly be more transparent without causing more anger and frustration among the customers.
