Hey all,

First time posting, ordered 5/3 for a MY LR, DBM. Most of you have great SAs that keep you posted! I ordered out of Peabody, MA and still waiting on a date, it previously showed 6/18 - 6/30 but as of last week has remained on 6-9 weeks. I ended up emailing my SA today and their response was without a VIN they wont have any updates 😭 . In my experience i got a lot more from Carmax than i did trading into Tesla, i ended up selling early to save money and a higher trade in value, now it's just impatiently waiting for my car! haha
Similar to my state, Massachusetts reduces the sales tax on the new vehicle by the tax on the amount of the trade-in. Was your Carmax offer enough to offset the tax difference? I found that Carmax gave me a couple hundred $ more than Tesla but not nearly enough to offset the sales tax difference. But my trade-in value from Tesla is soon expiring due to the long wait so I may have to revisit Carmax.

The delivery specialist I talked to was very clear that order date is just one of the factors in the system that determines who’s next for a VIN/delivery. Config, location, what your SC actually gets and when, how many folks decline delivery, etc all play a factor.

I know this will mostly fall on deaf ears but there’s a pretty good potential that people will get their car before you even though they ordered well after you. People are going to get pissed (maybe rightfully so) but it’s a fact.

Vroom crushed Carvana, CarMax and my local guy by $2,800 on my Q7 and they wired 100% of the money when they picked up the car. No “well, we found a scratch, etc”. And the car wasn’t in perfect shape. It wasn’t a perfect experience, but they were really aggressive. Oddly so, in fact.
I think it's probably worth getting offers from a few places like Vroom, Carmax, Carvana, etc., and going with the highest offer. For me, Carvana offered almost $4K more than Vroom. I'm sure it's just based on demand in your market.

well see, i considered that, but when Tesla quoted my 17 civic for 19500 (what made me go for it since it matched what i still owed), but their final offer dropped to 12k, to not be upside down, i took Carmax's 22k offer on my car and deal with the consequences later

Carvana was probably one of the easiest processes I've encountered. They scheduled a day to come and inpsect the car and 5 minutes later they handed me a check and took the car. I was a bit sad they didn't have the flat bed as you see in the commercials lol.
Very similar experience. Whole process took less than 15 minutes. All the woman checked was the odometer and took a couple of pictures. Money was in my account the next day.

Really surprised that a claimed high tech company cannot really get their basic customer account web page to load up properly. Yeah there are tons of click since all of us are impatiently refreshing our account page. But looks like the problems are never resolved or improved really stuck me. Do they even care that there system sucks? If any other tech company have the similar issues for so long, do you guys think someone responsible should be ashamed or even be fired? Just saying..
I'm sure their web team is working on it. Do you expect a press release about their team structure changing or something? They may not have the headcount that they need to do the job properly, it might be problems with AWS or CMS... sure it's irritating but certainly firing folks from their team while the site is glitchy isn't going to solve anything. Tesla is a miserable place to work. Cut them some slack.

Carvana is picking up my vehicle next Tuesday. Did you sell it to them yet and if so, how did that experience go? Did they give you what they offered or negotiate down? I'll likely go get mine detailed before pick up, although someone said it didn't matter... I'd rather just not have that be a point of negotiation if I can help it.
I sold to them... beat Tesla's offer by $4K. They showed up at my house to pick up car... gone in 15 minutes... so easy I was concerned it was a scam.

Problem is that they took my car a month ago and I'm still waiting on my car.

With inventory being as low as it is, also makes me think I might have been able to get more.

Recall that even as the floodgates get unlocked, you're still going to be in line based on your order date and available configs. So late March/early April people will be first out the gate for pickups.
My reading of this forum is that these considerations are only part of the equation. Location (east vs. west coast, for example) also plays a factor. The order date may have less influence than other factors.

Just ranting :D. I am sure they are trying very hard on improving it. I know most people working at Tesla are very proud of being Tesla guy and they all cherish their reputation of the great company. Hate to see this persistent customer account issue gives every new Tesla customer a really bad first impression and I believe it also tarnish the Tesla name we all love and respect.

I have a MY LR DBM on order from Dedham! ordered 4/22, 7 seater/black interior/no FSD - hopefully we are not competing for the same config!. Fingers crossed we get some good news in the coming days/weeks in the Northeast!

So I had to take the wife’s S60 in for service today (free since it’s one of its first three, thanks Volvo) and drive this beauty. Hybrid engine, it’s not a Tesla, or have the battery range…but damn it’s sexy and I know it’s a Volvo, but my last one saved my life….
