You’re almost at the finish line, good stuff! Tints are a definite for me as well. Got quoted $699 for XPEL XR Plus here in VA for door windows & hatch window. It would be an extra $600 for the roof, but I’m gonna opt outta that for now to see if the stock heat rejection will be enough for my area. Windshield tint of any kind is a no-go in VA, so that option is off the table.

Theres a video floating around that shows the roof on the Y does not need tint for IR/UV protection.

Called the service center and they said the car is still in transit but scheduled to arrive today. However the rep said he’d advise sticking to the Saturday delivery to make sure the team doesn’t rush through the predelivery inspections. Still hoping they call me tmrw though!
Drove by the service center on my way home this afternoon and I’m pretty sure I saw it in the lot, still wrapped in plastic 😁Will call tmrw morning to see if I can get it a day early and let this saga end already…

They are pretty bad, I've driven in MN for 20+ winters, this us the 2nd time I've needed winters on a car, the other was a manual transmission WS.6 Trans Am (RWD) which had summer only performance tires. I've always run all seasons on FWD, RWD, or AWD cars and been just fine. I was amazed how bad the LRMY was being AWD on all seasons. Maybe it had a funky alignment? It drove fine otherwise but partial ice was a death sentence.
Yikes! We get plenty of snow/ice here in this part of Texas. My MYLR seemed to do okay on packed snow, but for icy roads, I opted to use my wife's Highlander AWD because it was older, cheaper, and less painful to sacrifice should someone hit us.

To be fair, I haven't found any car that does great on ice (unless you use chains). Hearing that yours doesn't perform well on ice is disconcerting because I am planning to replace the Highlander with another MYLR. Did you use the snow/ice setting? (I haven't tried it yet, so have no experience.)

In TX, in case you are wondering whether to go in person or get it done through thetitlegirl, cost comparison,I had a trade in, so my taxable amount is less, anyway, titlegirl charges service fee ( $250 ) and collects late fee(which is refundable if not applicable).

I chose to save $250 and went in person, early in the morning around 8:00 AM, to a local county tax collector office, it took less than 10 mins. I took insurance copy, DL and personal checkbook along with the package that Tesla sent. They handover License Plate along with registration sticker on the spot.

I got our wheels ordered for the MY today! The original ones I was wanting had to be ordered (Volk G025), and were at min 8 months out...ended up going with a very similar option (GramLights 57FXZ) from the same manufacturer that were the last set in stock here in the US! should be arriving next week sometime! Went with 20 x 9.5 +35 Offset for anyone interested. Will post pictures when they come in and have them mounted on the Y!

One thing I remember reading is that the tires that come with the 19" geminis are notoriously bad according to tirerack reviews, even though they're "all seasons". It might well be that with another much better set of all seasons they'd be fine. Supposedly the stock tire on the 20" is a much better tire. The 19" geminis and upgraded tires is probably a more practical combo all around - especially if you don't need snows - since the wider sidewall is better for winter performance and also nicer on bumps / potholes all year round.

Also wondering since my AWD Honda CRV always handles fine in snow, but ice is a different story….

Got my frunk and trunk shipment from Tesla Shields today, too. Still waiting on the front and middle seats.

I wasn't even expecting it as I never got a shipped email. I'll take it, though!
Same here - got the UPS alert and Tesla Shields confirmed it is the frunk/trunk mats ... interior front and middle mats i am hoping get shipped in the next few days (they said 7-14 days last week) .. so lets see ..

@loggedout - how's the quality of the mats?

depending on when it was delivered at the SC, they may take a day to do their own checks and inspection. The M3 was released to us a day after it got here.

ah good to know. Me and brother have not heard a single thing after the orders and haven't seen anything arrive yet either.
They were hit big time with the shipping fiasco in LA ... there are tons of container ships just anchored off the coast waiting to offload their goods .. at least theirs got in (last week) and is supposedly on the way to their warehouses in Utah & Tennessee ... if you ordered the frunk/trunk mats they should be shipped any day .. the interior mats possibly in another 1-2 weeks I am hoping.

I did not try the offroad setting as it seemed to suggest that wasnt for on road use. Knowing what I do now, it sounds like it might help but I didn't try.

The Blizzaks made me confident, even on polished ice where a stop sign/light was on an uphill.

So after 155 days, we finally picked up my wife's Model Y on Saturday the 16th. The staff at Devon, PA were all very friendly and we did not feel rushed at all. Our appointment was at 11am and we were driving away at noon. And the only reason it took that long was because my wife spent about 30 minutes asking questions to the delivery specialist. In fact, he helped her pair her phone with the car, and went through a bunch of the common settings that she should know.

We walked around the car and everything looked good to us. The only tiny issue we had was there was some powdery residue on the back seat, and the delivery guy promptly grabbed a cloth and some cleaner and wiped it up.

All in all, a very positive experience! I'm sure it's totally worth the wait and super fun to drive but my wife hasn't let me drive it yet...
Great to hear that... I am picking my car on Saturday......

Advice needed!!. At pickup right now and some paint damage to right passenger door. I either accept and have it “rectified” later OR wait for another one (none on hand or in transit). Hate to paint a brand new car, but no longer have a car :(

How bad is the paint damage? IMO that's an easier fix (I think...?) and I'd take delivery now. It's cosmetic and doesn't affect how the car functions... if I was in your shoes, I've waited this long I want the car NOW lol.

Can you share a picture of amount of damage?
Thanks that’s where I’m leaning. Support group comes through again. Inner peace ;)

Haha yea... if yours was a Blue/White and you were in norcal I would say, I'd gladly take it from you :p

JK - if it's not bad just take it and be happy with it! We're overly obsessed with every small detail imo

I won't see my car for at least a minimum of 30 days, so not too worried yet. Slightly worried for my brother's though, but good to hear. Thank you.

I saw earlier today that the national guard may be deployed to help with the cargo issue. That's a lot of cargo ships in the waters!
