Sometimes, this happens when a vehicle is damaged in transit and has to be repaired before continuing to its destination (hail, fell off transport truck, vandalized, etc.). Such damage will not appear on a vehicle history report and may not have to be disclosed depending on state requirements. It could also be due to unexpected shipping delays (truck/train not available when scheduled due to mechanical breakdown, weather, strike, etc.) in which case the vehicle may be undamaged, but is stuck on a storage lot or rail yard waiting for a ride. You may never know.
