Likely 3-4mm thicker than p rotor hat.Does this stick out farther than the factory performance rotor hat?
Did you get 5 people? I woulda jumped but I’m on the 365mm and spending another 2k for 5mm diameter and 2 pistons isn’t worth it to me RN bc I don’t track my car. It is a good options for those that haven’t upgraded yet. Subscribed through. Seeing UPPs 395mm in person is very hard to unsee.Looks good! Can’t wait to finally get this project underway.
Based of this post, I wonder if we could fit the 18" aeros on the CTS-V calipers.@mact3333 I am in the middle of upgrading my AWD dual motor to Performance model brake calipers. I bought the calipers recently off Ebay, fronts were $700 and the rears were $400. A few dings in the paint but not noticeable once installed. Otherwise they look brand new, virtually no wear on brake pads. Makes me wonder how the sellers got them, but whatever.
To others that may want to upgrade as well, I am doing this myself in the garage. Here's what's required:
All other tools required I already had. Nothing out of the ordinary. Here's the parts list:
- Jack Lift Pad Adapter - $14.00 on Amazon
- 2 ton floor jack - $140 at Harbour Freight
- 18E Torx socket (fits caliper bolts) - $13 at Harbour Freight
- Brake Bleed Kit - $15
- Brake Fluid - $20
To dispel other common myths, I mounted the front performance calipers and 355 mm rotors with 18" Aero wheels. I did have to grind a 1/8" corner off the brake pad wear indicator for clearance with MPP rotors - used a dremel tool with cutting disk.
- Model 3 Performance brake calipers - prices and sources will vary
- Mountain Pass Performance Stock Sizing P3D+ front rotors - $1,040
- Rear electronic parking brake jumper connectors from P3D+ (I just learned this from this thread!) - $???
- MPP Stainless Steel Brake Lines - $155 (kinda silly not to upgrade from rubber lines if you are serious about braking performance)
Here's the pics and I'll post more later when I find the rear e-park brake wiring harnesses.View attachment 462209 View attachment 462210 View attachment 462219 View attachment 462220 View attachment 462222 View attachment 462222
You can’t fit mpp 365mm and 18” so this would be a negativeBased of this post, I wonder if we could fit the 18" aeros on the CTS-V calipers.
The MPP Stoptech BBK does fit under the 18" aeros. You can’t fit mpp 365mm and 18” so this would be a negative
Sorry if I wasn’t clear….the 365 bbk for standard brakes don’t clearThe MPP Stoptech BBK does fit under the 18" aeros.
I agree with @superflyrolla that there is somewhat of a side upgrade topic that isn’t the oem PUP brake included in this thread that could be beneficial in its own thread. Can @jjrandorin sort through and separate the posts to make this one 100% oem tesla brake upgrade versus the CTS-V version? Topic title “CTS-V brake upgrade”?I know this thread has gone down a different path but I wanted to say thanks for posting all this info to let people know the swap was possible. I had the MPP 365mm grey caliper relocation kit on the car but wanted to run 18x10.5 +25 wheels with a little more offset in the rear for autocross and be able to use the aero’s, so I recently swapped to M3P front calipers and rear rotors. After selling the 365 kit, my overall cost was about $800. Got calipers on EBay & rotors at a service center.

Thanks for doing this. Can you change the title to reflect GM 6 piston Brembo calipers?(moderator note)
I did just split off what looks to be the discussion about the non OEM brake upgrade kit that is being discussed. We do normally allow people to put together group buys of stuff as long as they are not affiliated with the company, and its not some sort of "referral" / "referral code" type situation (where its obvious someone is getting a financial benefit from doing it).
Looking at this, its not obvious that is happening, but its not obvious thats NOT happening either. With that being said, I am erring on the side of letting it go, at least for now, because there is a chance that this is just crowd sourced upgrading, which we support, vs non vendor type sales, which we dont.
If it end up looking different, I will re visit.

I would just get the pads that LS1, C7 Z06, CTS-V2 guys run up front. Easier to get the correct pads that way. From my research width wise the Tesla brembo pad and ctsv is the same width but depth wise the ctsv is 10mm more

This looks interesting. Can we still get in on the rotors from girodisc
