That sucks…but in your place I’d hope so. I’d rather get a new car than drive that again. I’d worry there was underlying damage that compromised the integrity of the car and that problems would pop up along the way later

In my experience at a collision shop where we used to buy damaged cars to repair, we typically avoided side hits like yours. Very difficult (not impossible) to pull everything (speciically the posts that the doors attach to) back into position so that the doors and windows line up perfectly. Otherwise, there will always be wind noise and rain leaks. Good luck.

It looks like the rocker panel has a bit of a bend in it, in which case the battery pack may be compromised. If that's the case, along with deployed airbags, probably totaled... Hope all are ok!

Thanks. Surprisingly, the airbags did not deploy. I should have an estimate from the collision shop and adjuster this week. Thankfully I have no very serious injuries.

Everything is garaged, hangared, which saves some money. The aircraft has retractable landing gear which cost more to insure.
