Wow, I thought I had nothing to do.
You would drive from California to Ohio? Geeesshhh
I would have 100% done it from Cali to Chicago-area, but I'm not paying extra for the right to drive my car home.

Ooooo noooo. Again, Autopilot is not a replacement for a driver. Autonomy is. And that's not out yet. 90% of the driving is still the driver - Even with AP on.Autopilot would do most of the work, right?
You got me there. I have no idea what you mean.I would have 100% done it from Cali to Chicago-area, but I'm not paying extra for the right to drive my car home.
Was kidding. Should have used sarcasm tag.Ooooo noooo. Again, Autopilot is not a replacement for a driver. Autonomy is. And that's not out yet. 90% of the driving is still the driver - Even with AP on.
Does anyone know if this is for state and local taxes or if it's only the California state sales tax?
I was seriously thinking about picking up my Model 3 in California and driving back to Michigan -- it would have been an awesome road trip! Unless it would get me more federal rebate, the numbers won't pencil out versus picking the car up in Ohio, which has a reciprocity agreement with Michigan, so I'd only be paying Michigan sales tax, and the Tesla store could take care of the Michigan registration.Wow, I thought I had nothing to do.

My plan is to pick up in (tax-free) OR,
I would like to call it the same thing that Arnold Schwarzenegger calls it.Just please don't call it Cali. Yuk.

BTW, 9.5% new car sales tax is criminal.
Could you point to the law or bench ruling that made it a crime?
