That's a big assumption. I rather prefer Reed Hastings take than just assuming Emperor's New Clothes. This quote is something that many of us have said is a problem:

As much as I strongly dislike how easy Elon has made it for portions of this country to hate him, I also firmly believe that "cancel culture" (for lack of a better term) and purity tests are completely out of control. People are of course free to buy products on any metric they so choose, but the peer pressure / judgment aspect of it is disturbing and not good, imho.
I think "cancel culture" is just a term/label people use to just again, divide people and spread hate. It's unnecessary like so many things out there.
With Twitter, if they became a hate, violent filled, porn site
Like with Ye saying he can say/do whatever he wants and Adidas will never cancel him. Why does he even need to bring that up? Bad behavior, make 50% of the world probably hate you and not support your products and the owner of the brand realizes it's possibly bad for business.
Cancel Culture now is a bad is because people that used to do the cancelling are now getting cancelled. Other than that cancel culture has been around as long as human society has been around. Otherwise ask why actors like Rock Hudson never came out as gay. Ask why Alan Turing even after being a hero of WW2 was chemically castrated and imprisoned for being gay. Ask the Dixie Chicks were cancelled by the right for being against the Iraq war.I think "cancel culture" is just a term/label people use to just again, divide people and spread hate. It's unnecessary like so many things out there.
I think everyone has their freedom of speech, but just because others also have freedom to shop somewhere else doesn't make it cancel culture. It's just a choice thing and folks crying everything is cancel culture is just to get political and try to get the right or left to side with you when things don't have to be that way.
With Twitter, if they became a hate, violent filled, porn site, some companies just don't want to associate their brands with that market so they leave. There's nothing really to cancel. People bring up cancel to just get other folks jumping in to support their own divisive agenda.

Bad behavior, make 50% of the world probably hate you and not support your products and the owner of the brand realizes it's possibly bad for business. The arrogance of these wealthy/powerful/popular people is pretty sickening.
What's sad is a lot of young folks look up to all these influencers.
You mean like how they tried to do EM when he suggested Ukraine could be de escalated?Ask the Dixie Chicks were cancelled by the right for being against the Iraq war.
Sure, but funny that you refer to it as de-escalated rather than reward Putin for his bad behavior. I actually defended Elon on this because he was freaking out about Nuclear War.You mean like how they tried to do EM when he suggested Ukraine could be de escalated?
Here's the AP News story, with quotes from Musk saying that he's actually (in contrast to his recent posturing)The EU is warning Elon that Twitter could be banned in the EU if it doesn't abide by the EU's rules on content moderation.
Does Tim Cook own a Tesla? Hopefully he had a thing or two to say about software release processes and not using customers as beta testers. Apple hasn't really ever broken my MacBook Pro with a software update. Tesla on the other hand...Apparently Tim Cook took Elon around Apple's campus. Wonder what they were talking about.

pro-moderation and anti-disinformation: EU warns Musk to beef up Twitter controls ahead of new rules
Why can't both takes be true? That's a big assumption. I rather prefer Reed Hastings take than just assuming Emperor's New Clothes.
Why can't both takes be true?
Just because you prefer one take, doesn't mean that the other has truth to it as well.

So disingenuous. Elon wants to make it transparent and he doesn't want the government to decide, that's why feel threatened that one person get's to decide that they don't get to decide.
while she flies on private jets with her family, SMDH.She just hates him because he made her look like a fool when she said billionaires should be taxed more . . . and then he went out and paid more tax than any human in history, ever.
Maybe Apple will start charging customers for beta OS releases.Does Tim Cook own a Tesla? It’s certainly possible there were unofficial ultimatums thrown around before a meeting of the minds took place.Maybe Elon should stop believing everything he is told, or reads on Twitter.

Why did Elon bring this up if it wasn’t true? Why does this keep happening?
