Finally Released the Plaid. What a wild ride.

Picked it up at the start of the weekend. It was at a delivery center almost 150 miles from my house. Got the allocation off a friend of a friend and didn't feel like taking the risk of having it shipped to my local center and have it lost in shipping. Drove it home already put 450 miles on it. Thank you Florida with your daily thunderstorms car is filthy. I have PPF, tint, and ceramic coating scheduled soon so it'll get some TLC but snapped some photos.

As a first Tesla owner overall I'm rather impressed with this car. Buddy of mine brought over his old (and I mean old) Tesla Model S 60. He was in awe of how much better the interior bits are. I threw him in the driver seat and he goes this is way too fast. I told him go order a Long Range and trade out the old one.

Anyways, figured I'd say hello all.

Midnight Silver Metallic
Black/Wood interior
21" wheels

@N0sferatU Stunning car!!

Great taste in cars!! Whats the car in the middle?

From the taillights and C-pillar, I'd say it's a 2018 Audi RS7 Performance. Probably Mythos Black, but hard to tell in the artificial light. Great car.

ICUDoc is spot on with year, spec, and color

2018 Audi RS7 Performance
It's got a tune (DS1) + exhaust (Miltek non-resonated)
It's got a great V8 exhaust note and runs 10.8 @ 128.7 MPH and with roll out a 2.8 0-60 in good weather. It's pretty stout.

I was going to trade it out for the Plaid but my wife likes engine noise and wanted to keep it. It's an awesome car but I think it's redundant with a Plaid. Happy spouse happy house. :p

BOTH of those Audi's are fire. And whomever is responsible for Audi's interior AND exterior designs for at least the past 5 years or so? Knocks it out of the park with every Audi model.

That said, kinda funny that both of those are among Audi's highest performing vehicles and yet the performance numbers in your sig for each are now easily destroyed by the Plaid!

Yeah, as someone who only drove Audis for twenty years before moving to Tesla five years ago, completely agreed. My new Plaid is going to be so crazy of a step up in acceleration, I know it will feel scary at times. o_O

It's not all about the numbers either it's the experience. All the cars are cool in their own right.

Congrats on the Plaid and great garage line up! I am 2/3 of the way to almost the same garage I have a 2018 RS7 performance, a 2021 LR+ and a 2022 RSQ8 on the way. Would love to add an R8 one of these days! :)

The R8, I love that car, closest I got to it was a 6MT B8 S4. BTW all Audi engines and the TT entirely are made in Győr, HU.

The R8 is a dream that V10 is just epic. Cold start is a morning wake up call to the neighborhood...🤣

There used to be a time where that would have done it for me... Now it's just a stark reminder of what we're doing to the planet. Not a judgment (please don't take it as such). It just reminds me of how my mindset has changed over the years. Sweet car, btw.

I get it. I really do. (I still miss my E55 AMG and my E39 540 with 6 speed.) But as someone who maintains/repairs his own cars? It literally hit me as I was laying up under one of the cars a couple years back working on it. How excessively complex it was. Catalytic converters (now being stolen at an epidemic proportion), mufflers, transmissions, shift linkages, differentials, starters, fuel lines, fuel filters, oxygen sensors, complex cooling systems, superchargers,

All of those systems/components...just to go..slower and louder with more Noise/Vibration/Harshness. It literally was like a wakeup moment for me, that I no longer had a desire to own ICE engine cars anymore. And this coming from a guy who had E36 M3's, Range Rover Sport Supercharged (510hp), CLK55 AMG.s...some of the best performing cars of their days. But I certainly respect and appreciate cars of all types. Combustion engine Just not for me anymore

Funny how mindsets change, eh? I was such a car nut, growing up watching WRC on TV, - Colin McRae being a hero of mine. Got super into WRXs in London where I grew up - in the 90s, and Escort/Sierra RS Cosworths. Had a buddy with one, and it was amazing. Then the Golf VR6s, the BMW M3s, - the whole lot. How times have changed. Those cars just don't really do it for me anymore. :(
