and so, that worked. I got a call from my product specialist just now, and i DO have a VIN. I'm 3832. Interesting how the VIN and reservation number happened to coincide pretty closely for me. Just coincidence, but a neat one. Shows how they are catching up on the 60's i'd say.

Also, being on the east coast, i'm likely to be on the tail end of my Jan 24-Feb 7 delivery window. I also found out that they still don't have a dealer's license in virginia, so i'll be getting delivery right from the big truck.

I spoke with my DS (Lauren) yesterday, and told her I am in Fairfax VA. She asked me how close to Rockville, MD am I? I said it was about 45 minutes by car, and she indicated that the car would go to Rockville's service center for final prep (cleaning, charging), and I would most likely have a personal delivery specialist arrive with the car (or within a day or 2) to introduce me to the car. I didn't ask, but sort of assumed that this likely meant a smaller delivery truck (not an 18-wheeler carrier). But I suppose that depends on how many are en route to NoVA at that time.

Just got back from dropping off a check for my portion of the final payment at corporate HQ in Palo Alto. Lots of MSs in the parking lot. Nice to see so many in one place. Now I just have to get the MVPA to my credit union and all set to wait 11 excruciating days until final pickup.

Thanks for the math. the website states that they expect funding from Calif. Air Resource Board until 2015. Let's hope.

This is also confirmed by people that I know at CARB. (Calif Air Resource Board) I've been personally assured that I'll be able to get a credit on my X, even if delivered late in 2014.

Thats wierd. Im in herndon. My specialist said specifically that since they didnt have a dealers license in va yet, they couldnt have the delivery specialist deliver the car. It would come on the big 18 wheeler (i specifically asked because of the smallish residential streets near me) and be formally delivered by the driver. The DS could come by later that day to do the walk through.

DS said "Your Model S has made it about halfway through the manufacturing process, so I’m anticipating delivery is going to be within the week or so!"

My DS says I have a VIN (they didn't tell me what it was yet), and I should have the DocuSign MVPA tomorrow after just giving them License/Insurance info (then I guess I'll find out what the VIN is).
We'll see how the Jan 19-Feb2 window holds up with home delivery (well, to work since home would be deadly for a large truck) -- shouldn't take too long to transport it up here I hope

VIN 3756 on the paperwork, interesting that my original timeframe window was before Disco's but VIN is a tiny bit later, maybe a difference between service center pickup and delivery, or just randomness...

Just wanted to let people know 60s are rolling out! I heard from my DS today who offered me factory tour/pickup slots (9am,11,1pm,3) this Thursday and Friday 17th and 18th. Unfortunately, I couldn't get out of meetings on Thursday...have to wait until Friday!
Basically, TM is right on my delivery window. I have been waiting so patiently and am stoked to take it from Silicon Valley to SF for the weekend!

I keep seeing reports like these, so it's generally better not to wait for Tesla to contact you:

"Picking up the car this Friday at the factory. I had called to see if a VIN was available and was greeted with news that the car is ready."
