Florida Deliveries

I am curious to hear from those getting March deliveries in Florida.

Mine came out of Production on Feb 17. My DS says it will not be here until the week of March 13th. Seems like a long time to ship it across the country.

Is anyone getting a Florida delivery quicker than 3 weeks? Is anyone's car currently in CA, but given an earlier Florida delivery time than March 13?

Happy to be getting mine in 3 weeks, but just curious.

Still waiting for mine to "be in production". I certainly hope delivery isn't another 3 weeks on top of the waiting I'm doing now.

But I also think they try to fill up the load before shipping. So if yours finished first might be waiting for a few more to join the trip.

I placed my order on Dec 23, confirmed Dec 30, upgraded to 100D on Jan 26 - 7 seater (for some reason I think battery and configuration are the deciding grouping factors for production). Vin is 357XX and from the very beginning was estimated March/Early April delivery. I'm not sure how the production queue gets filled, but I've read others with orders well into Jan and some Feb with vins over 40XXX getting out of production, many from East Coast. I've inquired my DS today and was told that my car is not planned for production until beginning of March, which I'm quite happy with (would like to see if anything changes after the "retooling pause"). DS also estimated I should get the car by last week of March.

So, maybe 3 weeks to FL is resonance, or maybe your car will wait for mine to be build and delivered together (J/K) ;)

It would make sense for them to wait to transport together as many as they could. From what I hear (and see), they seem to build further away deliveries at the beginning of a quarter. It seems they are now on US builds and perhaps that even gets broken down more by region, I don't know. Although I have not studied it as closely as others, I haven't really been able to discern a pattern based upon specifications (mine is fully loaded other than Cold Weather and 72 Amps).

I was surprised how long it took for me to get a VIN (over a month). But then with a near 39,6XX VIN, I seem to have gone into production ahead of some mid-30,000s (could that be based upon my Order/Confirmation date?). Mine also seems to have taken a while in Production (which causes me some concern as I know there are quality checks at the end). In fact, MyTesla still shows "In Production" even though my DS told me yesterday (not sure which day it came out) it was out of Production.

Anyway, I will be curious to hear from other Florida builds.

Live in FL as well ordered in July? Not sure, but I pushed delivery back to Feb so I could get a 2017. Glad I did cause I got AP2 and the 100D now. Vin 352xx - scheduled for production estimated delivery late Feb - early March. Hope they build it after the retooling, maybe the paint quality will be better - or it could be worse, time will tell.

I purchased a new inventory car that was located in Seattle. It has supposedly been shipped to Fremont already and will come with their next new car shipment to FL. I was told to expect around March 10th. It was purely speculation by my delivery specialist but he seemed pretty confident in it.

I know that isn't very helpful but at least my delivery window sorta matches up with yours.

Very helpful!

It sounds there is a Florida shipment that will arrive around the 10th.

Well it was total speculation by my DS. He did not have any kind of confirmation of any kind of truck leaving Fremont anytime soon. It was just based on how things have gone in the past. He said it could even be sooner or maybe even later. Just depends on when the next truck is heading this way.

This is interesting because when we took delivery of our Model S in Feb 2015 it was of the first times they sent it via rail. It caused some hiccups in the process but that was attributed to it being the first time. I guess that never worked out as they are coming on trucks again.

Just to keep folks up to date:

MyTesla was just updated to "Your Tesla has been built and is in transit from the factory." (My DS told me last Friday it was out of production.

As well as this: "Estimated Delivery Range: February 27, 2017 - March 6, 2017" (which is a change from "March 10, 2017 - March 24, 2017").

I am working with Micheal and Kyle. Michael seems to be the point person and has been responsive but I am trying to not bother him everyday with a status update. It would be cool if our X's were on the same truck. I never really got confirmation that my transport to Fremont from Seattle actually happened so it's not crystal clear if my MX was at Fremont to be loaded on the truck.

Joe B. was my "salesman". He also happens to by my neighbor.

Jason,

Not sure who you have, but I find that Michael at the WPB store is pretty responsive. Joe is pretty good as well.

It would make sense to put your's on the same transport.

MyTesla.com still says that my MX is currently in production. Michael is my DS as well at the WPB center, but all he has told me is that it is still estimated to be a mid-March delivery.

Interesting!

I don't know if you saw it in the other thread, but apparently they are going to finish all of the vehicles that started production prior to the shutdown. Hopefully that means you will make the same transport as my vehicle.

I certainly hope so. The communication from Tesla can certainly be more consistent and streamlined. They are struggling to communicate with a few thousand buyers, what's going to happen when they have hundreds of thousands of buyers with M3.
