No one is really pushing for a grille. It's the blunt "unstreamlined" shape of the nose at issue.

The first thing I noticed about the Mod3 is how much smaller it really is vs the S. Granted, the S is a really large car to begin with, but the difference in size is striking and great news for those of us who prefer smaller cars
When I first saw this photoshop version, I thought I preferred it. But actually, it makes the car too plain. It just looks like another mid-90's sports car.A smoother rounder front end would actually be much better for the aerodynamics (Porsche I know). Yes its a little boring but in general that is the direction they should take in order to optimize for range.
