TLDR: Autopilot computer upgrades for S/X should be available in Q1 2021

Apologies if this is already well known, but I couldn't find any information from my searches.

I purchased the FSD upgrade for my Model S back when it went on special a year or two ago and have been patiently waiting for the FSD Hardware 3.0 since then. There was previously a page on the Tesla website that said when upgrades would be available, then that was removed. Every now and then, I'd schedule a service appointment to see if it was available, but today I reached out to Tesla support for an update and it looks like they've re-instated the page with the info:

    Full Self-Driving Computer Installations

Currently it says Q1 2021 for Model S/X, which isn't too long to wait. Fingers crossed they can keep to that timeline and that it's early Q1 rather than late Q1.

Thanks for the info. Been waiting VERY impatiently for a long time with no word which was very frustrating so glad to see official word on it.

It's so close, yet so far away when they use terms like "Expected Availability"

Someone posted on Facebook that they have received first HW3 upgrade in Australia. I have put in a service request for HW3 and the local service centre have ordered the part and made appointment for Jan 2021.

Mine is supposedly just the HW3 upgrade (free because I bought FSD in 2017).
I told my service centre I would wait for the upgrade to MCU2 until they gave a discount for those with failing MCU1 (like mine).

Booked mine & they have quoted me $4K for the MCU2.0, even though I didn’t ask for it
Double check your email service estimate from them

Those parts are the same as they have ordered for my MS AP2 2017 (just HW3, not MCU2)

Are you happy with the new system? Make any real difference? Is the reaction time better (for braking for cross traffic)? Mine is still HW2.5 and the car crossing my path has gone before the car brakes!

Well? How'd it go? Do you have all the new features such as stop at red? chime at green? Wheelie bins showing up in IC?
    Don't leave us hanggin' :)
