Hopefully by soon you mean late next year. The Goodyear press release (and those places that just republished the PR) is quite vague about availability beyond saying 2022. It would nice if it wasn't another Pilot Sport EV debacle too. Since when does 'made to last' mean 20k miles? It's good to have more options. I'm going to get a new set of tires soon and will be checking these for reviews and distribution.
the article states this. "Goodyear is producing a tire specifically for higher-performance EVs like the Tesla Model Y."The one-size 19" tire isn't correct for my M3. Maybe it was designed for the Y?
Per the Goodyear PR at Goodyear.com:The one-size 19" tire isn't correct for my M3. Maybe it was designed for the Y?
Well, that's the standard size for the Model Y.My Model 3 w/19's has a Continental 235/40. It seems the new Goodyear 255/45 will have a larger diameter, width and sidewall.
I'm not sure how I feel about this. Thoughts?

I should have been more clear and said 19" on the Model Y. While you could try them it seems like a bad idea. Presumably Goodyear will follow the market. The M3 is largest part of the fleet by far but the MY is currently the best seller (the usual installed base versus market share issue). There may also be price constraints and all the other things that drive productions decisions..My Model 3 w/19's has a Continental 235/40. Yeah, but I don't think that's the plan. The tires are asymmetric so if you didn't convert to 'square' you couldn't rotate them (although maybe no one cares about that).FYI, the 255/45 19 is also the front size of the refreshed Model S and perfectly suitable for the rear if you add spacers.

DOH! I read 25mm spacers but I guess I "spaced out".The tires are asymmetric so if you didn't convert to 'square'
