Headlights swapped!!

i love my model S but I wanted the frosted DRLs of the refresh so today I made it happen.

Looks great. May I ask if this is a plug-and-play or is there any modifications to hardware and software?

This is completely plug and play. I got a pair of headlights from vision auto labs and am sending back my cores now. Evan at vision offers a ton of options like retrofitting Lexus Rx350 projectors for greater output and light quality, but I opted to just get a pair that was blacked out with the DRLs frosted to look closer to the refresh. He is down in SD and communication was a little tough but all in all he delivered.

Are they still the HID, or did they also switch to the LED?

Still HID. (Which I prefer as I like the look of the projector) the DRLs have been frosted for a more solid look.

At first I thought you switched to LED. While LED look better than stock, yours look like the best of both worlds. The headlights in my Refreshed S are terrible.

Just info.
My SC guy said the HID were much more powerfull. Shined farther than new LEDs
He said they changed to save money and a few pounds. He said waiT till you have to replace a HID. $$$$

It looks like you have some sort of vinyl over the headlight as it does look darker?

Looks awesome. Did you do the Blacked out headlight, low gloss paint and froster diffuser? I am thinking about it since i have to replace one of my headlight...
