How many Tesla's in New Zealand

I wonder if the S/X will ever return.
I doubt so...

They received 265 cars on 3rd September.... so more Model Y (with some Model 3) came in... I am getting my Model Y next week.

They are playing with Model S and X... standard and different variants... potentially they will have Model 3 (Highlander) and Model Y (Jupiter) developed to specs that no one will ask for Model S or X...

As long as they deliver CyberTruck... I am personally good.

Topped the vehicles sales list in Sept I read.
On the Shore, seems like every second car is a white Model Y.
K Road has the last 5 2023 Model 3 Performance's in inventory, a steal at $12k less than I paid 3 years ago!
Wonder what they'd trade mine for?
Probably just decline... :(
they recently quoted around 40K tradein for my 2 year, 28K-KM M3 RWD... sold privately at $47K.
apparently any modification/improvements like PPF, Ceramic - they reduce the value of the car... when sold privately it adds to the value.

Tesla resell was nice till 2021... since than, just too many there and even Tesla cabs... so value keep on going downwards.
Model 3 might go even lower once highlander starts delivering.

Buying Tesla is like Buying Samsung Galaxy or Apple iPhone.... every few months price is reduced, every year refresh are in there, with more bells and whistles... so depreciation is always high.

Unfortunately resale will probably drop off a cliff when Highlander arrives, if it hasn't already

May as well drive my Tesla Taxi like I stole it now, supercharge the crap out of it
charge it to 100%, launch it every chance I get, practice track mode drifting and spend all my money on new sets of tyres

and get batteries replaced before 8 years 80% warranty runs out....
I might give my Model Y to my nephew or someone, when Cybertruck comes.... took nice lose when sold model 3 recently... so instead better take full lose - 😂
unless it gets written-off in (un)fortunate situation without triggering anyone's life insurance... that's dark thought of the day.

Hmmm, those numbers are down quite a bit on 2022, which is odd considering the Clean Car Discount was in place all thru 2023. Competition from MG & BYD?

Just wait until both the CCD and RUC change, I worked out that an ICE car would need to do 5.5l/100km to match an EV that paid 30c kW to charge and the RUC at $76/100km.
Please correct me if incorrect on this. I think sales will be down even further in 2024.

I really hope the consultants at Waka Kotahi are preparing some good options for implementing RUCs for EVs that isn’t just a blanket set and forget populist move to make the farmers happy.

We just need the next big oil shock that sends 91 to $3.50 to even it all out again hahaha

That oil shock will shock all economies and cost of living... I would have rather my EV looking expensive then economy ruined...

Next 3 years are enough to bring EV numbers down... pollution levels up, economy in bubble mode, and potentially services cut in every areas of life....
then again government change... and roll back 3 years....

after all, it's tax payer's money... noone cares....
planet noone ever cared anyway....

I make it about 4.0l/100km, based on $3/l and 150 wH/km. RUC is $76/1000 km (not 100) but you must have got that right.
