Hello, I got rear ended at a stop light by a 2006 Dodge Ram. This is the resulting damage. I'm going through their insurance for all the repairs. I did a virtual claim with an adjuster. His initial quote is $6300. Looking at other MYs with similar damage I REALLY doubt this guy is anywhere near the ball park. What are your thoughts?

2022 MYP with 3175 miles. I only had her for a month :(

That’s 15k in damages. Teslas own repair guide say no used or rebuilt parts so it’s new parts. New hatch. New glass. Two new. Quarters. New sheet metal for back plus bumper. Bumper support structure. Plus interior parts. Probably new wiring harness for tail lights and sensors. New sensors plus camera. New pan. Plus some structure pieces. They may insist on new Cabling for charge port plus board. Plus paint. Plus man hours to do the work. It’s at least 15k.

Looks really similar to mine (same model/trim too!) from awhile ago. I was actually rear ended by an F150 that got rear ended itself (so the truck who hit me absorbed most of the damage). Dashcam made insurance claims super easy; I just sent the video to the insurance of the party at fault and they pretty much took care of everything.

Some notes that might help you:
- I took my MYP to a local Tesla Collision Center vs an "Authorized Body Shop" because they are usually able to order parts faster
- It was a 2 month wait for the Collision Center to even have an opening to check my car for damage estimates. Luckily, my MYP was fully drivable so I was driving it around for 2 months with a wonky hatch.
- After I took the car in for an estimate, it was only about 2 weeks to order parts and do the actual repair
- Insurance originally estimated around $3k for damages but ended up paying close to $9k plus an additional $1k alone for my rental car
- I filed a "Diminished Value Claim" and was able to recoup an additional $2k.

Yours definitely looks worse than mine so I am expecting $12-18k if not totaled (its hard to tell without removing the rear bumper to see the subframe damage). Expect 2-4 months for repairs.

Ugh, it always sucks to see these accidents. My MYP was also rear-ended about a month into my ownership, so I definitely feel your pain.

Is the car drivable? If so, I would guess the damage is in the $10~20k range. Mine looked similar to what @norazi posted above and ended up being about $6,500 after an initial estimate of around $4,000.

No way is that a total; Replacing the lift hatch and bumper is about $7K ..

WOW.. that’s super high estimate.I just had the rear hatch, and bumper replaced after a minor accident on my new 2022 MYP but nonetheless; GEICO payed $7K to have it done. 🤷🏻‍♂️
Not really. I've seen it around $18k-$20k, I wonder if it depends where people live. I live in LA, it would be good to compare our final estimates to see why it differs. I'll post it later today

Seems c-pillar is in good shape which would mean that the rear bumper took the bulk of impact (as it is designed to do). This also means the impact didn't get near the battery pack. With that said, this would be easily a $20k damage. New trunk floor, rear subframe, inner/outer rear bumper and a new hatch, etc...

I would say around that much too. I had a low speed fender bender that cost over 11k, and this is a little more extensive than that.
