So, Pete...it looks like you're gonna owe bmah's son a big commission check since he's single-handedly increased your market for these by 33%! :)

Haha! I showed my son this message...he was pretty pleased with himself, especially since JPP liked the idea too (JPP is one of only two other people on TMC, besides me, that he's met in person).

It's a family affair :)

I had my first reply from the designer, but they're a bit confused, thinking red LEDs behind a white lens, so I'll need to explain further, I was just too lazy to take photos last night.

After a private chat with Pete, I have ordered 2 more sets (for both Ses). I am pretty handy and will juggle small screwdrivers to pop off the OEM red lenses and swap them onto Pete's lamps. And it's not like I don't have any OEM lamps to practice on--how about 24 (12 from each car--skipped the glove box)?

Looks like the Model X lights are the same form factor.

Just wondering why your description of the bracket says that they are for pre-2014 models. Unless I'm mistaken, that bracket looks just like what's on my December 2014 P85D.

You know, I was wondering why too. I wrote the description a couple of weeks ago, so I assume I had a good reason at the time, but I've no idea what it was now. I'll update it, unless anyone chimes in with a good explanation of what IW as thinking a couple of weeks ago :confused:

As I have the premium audio package, the box shape that's in the carpet on the passenger side of the trunk keeps it stiff so I gave up trying to pull the carpet back to hunt down the power connector. Not sure if I'll try that again later or maybe risk breaking clips removing the outer trim.

I had the exact same problem on passenger side as you really can't pull the carpet far enough back so I popped out the carpet opening from the outside and hooked the clip up to a coat hanger and fished it through the hole.

We do now have some of the brackets (not many, there's about 9 pairs left in stock - it's all that Freemont had), you can find them here: Foot-well light bracket (Tesla Part 1016677-00-A) - Abstract Ocean Working on getting more.

Just ordered another set of lights and the brackets so, hopefully, I can get these installed over the holidays. Loving the product!

Hi BozieBeMe2,
How did you remove the red warning lens from the stock lights.
Any directions on how this done would be greatly appreciated.
I've replaced 12 lights with Pete's lights.
I tried to pry a stock white lens off but was concerned about breaking the lens.

Eslee, removing the clear lens AND also removing the red lens is a study in why we shouldn't have small children around while doing this.
They pick up some of the strangest vocabulary,,,, Tsk, Tsk Tsk.
Anyway, the easiest way that I found was to hold the unit upside, in a vice. Supported on the lens edges in a folded shop towel.
Do NOT OVER TIGHTEN!
Using two small screw drivers, start on one end and working your way down into the lens, you will see the black plastic light socket come away from the lens. Do this one side, then the opposite side. Slowly lift this one end up, then gradually lift the entire light from the lens. The trick is to keep the light from slipping back into the lens as you work each side free. Should take about three minuets and yes, you can reward yourself with a stiff eggnog.

As I have written before I have removed 30-50 plastic trims on in the back.
Two plugs replaced and Tesla sell them.
White plugs are tuff, blue easy.
I posted a video that shows the procedure.
The trim is as fast as before the plugs is made for mantle and dismantle.

Just did the trunk and frunk. Removing the frunk light was by far the most difficult. The tip of the spudger actually chipped without the light even budging. After putting some inward pressure to prevent the spudger from popping out, I was able to put so much prying force that the spudger was bent until it was touching the front-wall of the frunk and still, the light refused to budge. Finally had to bring out a small metal screwdriver that didn't bend to finish prying it out.

Definitely brighter and looks stock!

Does any one know where to purchase a -2- pin "Y" / "Tee", connector to tie into the stock -2- pin Tesla wiring in the trunk?
(-1- male to -2- female)? Since installing Pete's new units in my trunk I no longer have a power supply for previously installed LED strip lights.
