Munro & Associates estimate that Tesla will save over $100/car by removing ultrasonic sensors. @SteelClouds @nebusoft and James Locke discuss why they think Tesla removed ultrasonic sensors, and radar as well.

This is a clip from Tesla Motors Club Podcast #24. The full podcast video is available here:

A few people here mentioned that they received notification from Tesla via the e-mail address associated with the order that USS was not going to be available on their car at delivery. Did you not receive an e-mail? A few of those people specifically noted that after receiving the e-mail they had no recourse to cancel the order without forfeiting the order processing fee (I believe to be $250). I believe there is some discussion about getting that order fee refunded.

As for your situation, there's not much you can do at this point but wait for a software update to give you those parking features. Since your car is brand new, the used car Tesla market is still pretty hot and you may be able to sell your car with only a minimal loss, and roll those proceeds into a different EV from another mfg.
I never received any e-mail or any formal notification of any kind, and I took delivery 11/12/2022.

I take it you read through every EULA that you have to agree to when you update the software on your phone? And you've also read every manual for every item you own cover to cover? How about the contracts for your credit cards? You've read all of those beginning to end, right?
I think Supcom was being sarcastic here.

Also, I believe wypoyns was saying that the TESLA delivery specialist directed him while standing over his shoulder to just hit accept and advance through the process, etc.

When I spend tens of thousands of dollars to purchase something, I absolutely read every word of every contractual document. Don't you? I certainly don't just 'click here' because some sales guy tells me to do so.

Nope. Quite serious. Who signs contracts for tens of thousands of dollars without reading even the simple notices? It's not like the USS notice was lengthy legalese. At least, the image of the notice I saw posted someplace looked like about a 30 second read, at most.
Hmmm
I never saw it, but I ordered my 2023 Model Y 09/20/2022 and took delivery on 11/12/2022.

You just tapped the screen without reading what you were agreeing to???

Incredible.
Yes, as I said they kept asking if I had signed the paperwork, in my mind the implication was that I was signing to take delivery of the vehicle. The guy at Tesla literally handed me my phone back and said click here. There was no indication that I should be aware that I was taking delivery of a car that is not ready for delivery. They should not be selling cars that don't have the software. Futhermore, I am 67 and I rely on the sensors. I don't care about the cameras as much as I do the sensors and I loved the feature in the 22 model that showed you exactly how far you were from things. When I signed up for this car, there were sensors. When they decided to remove them in October, it is my opinion that they should have let everyone know this was not the car you signed up for.
