Not to point out the obvious - but the reason for the 42 being the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything has nothing to do with Tesla.
So technically we aren't referencing the "easter egg" - the easter egg is referencing what 42 already was.
You betcha!

But I thought it would be more meaningful to the readers and posters to say that they are referring to something Tesla, rather than to say that Tesla's already been there, done that. It personalizes the experience a little more.

Now you've distracted me and I can't find my towel... :crying:

BTW, why is it that people say "not to point out the obvious" right before they point out the obvious?

Hmmm and similarly, by the time it's March 31st at the launch event, other parts of the Internet will be enjoying April 1st.
I wonder which websites will be unable to resist linking Tesla Model 3 with April Fool.

All of them! ;)

They just want to point out the obvious without making it obvious that they do - and fail, obvious ;)

I got dibs on 36!

Droppin' the ball, Miami! It's already 9:30 EST!

And hopefully, the Model 3's will FLY (down the road!).
What?? No wrap-speed?

Here's what comes to mind for me regarding "35". Any guesses what "15" is gonna be for me?

I think I have an idea - something to do with the hexadecimal digit for 15? Twice?

BTW, anybody notice we've been bigbear-less for a few days?

Yes, but I think he is still around, watching us doing the countdown.

Not to point out the obvious either - but 42 is the Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything.
Which as we all know, "begged the question..."

And the question was "How many car models to Tesla have in 2030"?

Well, at least I hope it's not "How many month after the revival will the TM3 ship (to me)?"...

Don't make fun of me, I think I'm getting a leaf now.

I'm not making fun of you, and I think Leaf is a great car (but not great looking :p ) if you can manage with it's range. I will be looking very closely on both the Opel Ampera-e (Europe Bolt) and the next generation long-range Leaf before TM3's production start. I think TM3 will win based on the SuperChargers (if nothing else), if I can hold out the waiting :p

You forgot Model S P and P+ (wonder if it will be a P++? ;) )

And you don't expect a Model W(arp speed)? ;)

Great post! Totally fits in with the feel of this thread.

I need to seat 5. Let me look at this egolf though.

As an e-Golf lessee, I can tell you that the driving experience and handling is much, much better than the LEAF. Unfortunately, it's only available in a few select states, and Texas is not one of them. :frown:

Per Volkswagen:

The e-Golf will be available only at participating dealers in California, Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington D.C.
