LR RWD Waiting Room

It was $4,000 more up through June 30. Now it’s $2,000 more but with an $1,875 lower federal tax credit. So it’s almost exactly the same spread in price.

P3D- was not available back in April when I ordered unfortunately.

My white LR RWD with 19” wheels came out to $49,200 after delivery. Add the extra $1,000 for included AP now, and you’re just over $50k, or $46,700 after tax credit. The P3D- in white is now $49,315 after $1875 tax credit, and you’re gaining AWD plus performance but losing the 19” wheels.

To make matters worse, take $1k away from the performance price above, and that’s the current LR AWD price with 19” wheels. $1500 for a second motor isn’t a bad deal at all, and no waiting for the tax credit to come back later.

For those of us who have been following jvmoore1 since early June or so. :)

Its about time. However, I have lost track of the features. Its obviously 50,990 for the awd, what was the price (before discouns) for the LR RWD?

Our story so far:
My original order was for a LR RWD/MSM/white interior/aero wheels (47,990)
2k discount offered since i would not take delivery by the end of June
Constant email/texting to OA, Delivery advisor, and a lead advisor. No idea when my car will be built. Headquaters just says it will....sometime
OA gets back with bad news that they would not honor the 2k discount since i didn't take delivery by June. even though that was why i was getting the discount originally. *head scratcher*. But, they will give 1,000
Due to no timeline of when my config would be built and not seeing any inventory near by, i ask if any P3D- are available.
OA sends me a couple in the same config i had originally (MSM/White/Areo) for 51,990.
i pick the blue (family had talked me into blue instead of MSM) and OA says she has to see if the discount will transfer (50,990)
i ask for HomeLink and/or a wall charger since they are only giving me a 1,000 discount
OA says discount will transfer and change has been made to my account.
VIN and discount still not showing on my account
email delivery specialist and it appears he is OOF till next week

Do these guys work one day per week or something? I received an email from my delivery specialist about 2 days after placing my order, and once again at the beginning of the following week when I was supposed to receive the car, and crickets from then on out. My sales advisor was the only person to ever respond to me in a timely manner throughout the entire process, even after giving the DA every single phone number and email address I had for contact.

Want a good laugh. Read the job description for the Service Advisor role listed on the Tesla website and note the underlined comment about timeliness in responding to customers.

What makes it even more laughable is the lack of proofreading. What they meant to say was “no more than 5 minutes”. But apparently for this job you must wait at least five minutes before responding to an email or phone call. Anything faster than that is not allowed.

Once upon a time ago, I had a Splus White on White 18s on order. I walked back into the store after 3 weeks of no news and asked about switching to existing inventory. They turned me away.

I came back a few days later and they sat down to look at existing LR RWD inventory with me this time. They found a few black on white with discounts. I waited a day or two and came back into the store and had a switch to one with a discount. I hate black cars. Love looking at them.. hate owning them. Car had FSD and they would take it off and still give me a $700 discount. Had 4 miles. Discount didn't show up as $700. I spent the next 4 days trying to get the discount fixed. Random ppl from Tesla would ping me for info, Las Vegas, Fremont, Costa Mesa. I would provide info but they would never answer my questions. I got fed up went to a different store to cancel and reorder.

Here they let me watch them cancel this existing screw up and order the next screw up and go through my history.

I got an interesting glimpse into my customer history and how things are done. Everything the sales advisor does is a request sent to someone else... Most likely someone in Fremont. The sales advisor don't have the power to do anything. Pricing, off the menu items, switching to an inventory car, change of color, delivery at a location that isn't geographically closest to you.... Everything is a request sent to Fremont. There seems to be no system to close the loop either. The screen basically looks like a What's app or whatever instant messenger chat dialogue box. Everytime someone touches my account, they have to read through 3 weeks of instant messages.

That morning when I spoke to my new advisor about taking inventory which would be my final car (different from my 3rd order), a white on black LR RWD with comped 19" wheels... It was a miracle that everything was approved and implemented in 30 mins.

I've also noticed different stores have very different attitudes and customer demand. The Brea store which is less than 2 miles from my office is always always busy and quite a few employees always seem stressed or unhappy. Other stores I've been too are empty and they just want any sale. The Pasadena store which I switched too.. is laid back and not constantly slammed despite being in a very rich area. I think the shopping mall stores are very busy while service center stores and street front stores are not and thus the attitude and workload of go employees with it.

JV Moore good luck with your discount. It's very frustrating but the car is amazing. I sold my ice car since and keep on thinking about how Elon depreciated my LR RWD and could have potentially moved to a faster LR AWD. Tesla is a maddening chaotic company.

that is what i am finding out. there seems to be an Order ops groups that gives the thumbs up or thumbs down on any and all requests.
they are the ones who said originally yes to the 2K.
they are the ones who told my OA, sorry you misunderstood what we offered.
they are the ones who said nope to homelink or a wall chargers.

when my OA told me all i could think of was how much it felt like a car dealership experience ("let me go talk to my manager and see what i can do").
not only is it frustrating, but it also delays any kind of progress. waiting days to get the yay or nay on any changes.
i just want my car and the price you offered!

so just got off the tesla chat. i now have a delivery advisor who just emailed me. also, when i look at my page source there is a vin.
but, the vin is listed under inventory callback "/inventory/callback/5YJXCAE4XGF006813"

don't see that vin on ev-cpo, so not sure if it is mine or if i should be expecting a call trying to get me to switch
Hey why did this end up being? I see the exact same information as you did. Im trying to get a sense on how far I am from getting my car. I just placed the other last Friday

have you chatted with the online tech? i think this is just some placeholder for people use the online chat.
If you ordered a LR RWD i am not sure how long it will be before they start building them. Before i switched my order over no one could give me a definitive answer on when i could expect delivery.
honestly even with me switching to an inventory build i have no idea when i will take delivery.
But, i have a feeling i am not the norm so YMMV

Having owned 20 or so cars and an eGolf for four years, the Model 3 is unique in its price range. It’s possible to find some fault with a particular car or the company in some way. Buts that’s been true of every single car I have ever owned. But no car has the attributes of a Model 3, and that’s not opinion.

My OA told me she just sold a M3LR RWD today for 45k. it has 19in. wheels on em as well. It went quick. I was wondering if thats a good deal or for 3k more the AWD 18's would be better. I asked her what color was it she said black. I really wanted white so she didn't bother to tell me.. I feel like if she offered it to me I would have taken it.

Was it brand new? An inventory car? I would have jumped on that too... I didn’t think any inventory or new LR RWDs still were left in the USA...

just to keep you update...
got my MVPA on Tues but they did not include the discount. i cannot fathom why it is taking almost a week to add the discount.
i am waiting for them to respond that they are not going to honor it.

spoke to my delivery specialist and he said he put a high priority on the request (so i am guessing there wasnt a high priority before?). should know something in a day or two (i thought this was already approved?)

was hoping to pick the car up this weekend, but as of right now that doesnt look promising

i am really trying to see if maybe there is something i did wrong through all of this. just feels like i am this enigma in the quest to join the Tesla family. Is it me?
does Tesla not want me to be in their family?
dont want me associated with Tesla?
Tesla, if you give me FSD for free i'll drive with a paper bag around my head

@jvmoore1

I think you just got some back luck with the delivery specialist who was assigned to you. He sounds like he is either disorganized or not familiar with the process that Tesla puts advisors through to get deals done. Because everything is done in Fremont an advisor who doesn’t follow up constantly to push his deal through the system will just get left behind and unfortunately will leave his customer behind with him.

so i will not be going to the casino or buying lottery tickets anytime soon

My car was delivered a few weeks ago but I still watch this thread just to see when will you ever get this car! Keep the faith.
