My counter argument to "this is a tesla forum so everyone knows what we mean when we say "M3" would be, there are a LOT (and I mean a LOT) of us here who also had or still have BMWs, and many of those also have had, or have "M3s". Even "3" is better, and less typing.

Even if BMW ceases to exist some day, I'll personally limit my usage of M3 to BMW cars. Personal preference to respect legacy. It's a preference nothing more. It will still be my preference when Tesla overtakes BMW in both mind share and market share.

When my son sees //M3 he just knows its a car that's noisy and slow. That and gas stations is for snacks. We plug in overnight to recharge cars.

I won't talk *sugar* because I've always wanted one. Drove the Mazda M3 instead all those years to save money.

No. It's a brave new world, now everyone has to change the way they do things to appease people who can't handle differences of opinions or how other people do things.

I’m interested in both the M3 and the M3. Ive driven both cars and I really like the performance and handling of the M3 over the M3. I think the M3 is a better value for the money than the M3 but I’m leaning towards the M3 for obvious reasons. Both offer a fun and exciting ride but the M3 is definitely a better vehicle than the M3...especially when it comes to interior comfort. Therefore, I’ve decided to go with the M3 and I definitely don’t regret not going with the M3.

It’s not complicated. Use the name of the car: “Model 3”. There is no other car in production using that name except for what Tesla is selling right now.

I don't want to be "that guy", but BMW has been making a very popular and successful car since 1986 called the M3. Many of you have owned one, I have owned 2. We simply can't refer to the Model 3 as the M3. It would be like Burger King coming out with a new hamburger and calling it the Big Mac. To this day every time someone refers to their M3 I think oh cool they have a M3, oh wait they're calling their Tesla an M3.

When speaking to someone, M3 always refers to a BMW. When typing or reading comments, that's your problem.

I'm more concerned with the word - B**ch. I never know if the person is referring to wife or girlfriend.
