Other warnings that might roil the markets
A characteristic of the Trump era is we all have paranoid days. Mine for today as an “extinguished” professor of Soviet studies is how wrong the main stream media is about Trump’s latest tweet warning the Russians.

"Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump
Russia vows to shoot down any and all missiles fired at Syria. Get ready Russia, because they will be coming, nice and new and “smart!” You shouldn’t be partners with a Gas Killing Animal who kills his people and enjoys it!

The outrage of today’s media focuses on Trump’s earlier assertions he would not broadcast his moves in foreign policy, interspersed with criticism of Obama for doing so.
CNN misses the point of Russian perfidy. Trump is the early warning system that an attack is coming. A technical note: please focus on “smart!” in above. Is that to suggest at what setting the radars (or whatever) are set for aerial defense? Tomahawk missiles as used last time are inertial guided, so immune to radiation jamming.
The best spies are unwitting spies. Two illustrations from history.
Scholars have shown the Soviet atomic bomb project was discovered by a physics student in Russia who noted articles in high energy physics had disappeared from Western journals. He got an interview with Stalin.

he Advisors: Oppenheimer, Teller, and the Superbomb. He suggests our test of a thermo-nuclear device proved the concept Sakharov and others had already theorized so speeding up the Soviet decision to build.
(Trial for treason under our Constitution requires at least two witnesses to an overt act, another reason the prez should stop tweeting.)
Certainly there are many reasons to believe Trump is unwitting. There may be another sudden jolt to the market. Even the
National Review is chastising him for conflating the Russian investigation in recent actions against his lawyer with personal behavior. (I love the headline.)
Michael Cohen Office Raid & Stormy Daniels -- Implications for Trump | National Review
“This particular scandal was not caused by the Russia investigation, much as Trump seems determined to conflate the two. It is not the work of Bob Mueller, Jeff Sessions, or Rod Rosenstein. None of them had anything to do with the porn star going public. It was Trump’s conduct that caused this mess; it was the hare-brained scheme to cover up the mess that brings us to this pass.”
Further, though the cause and effect on the market is vaguely connected to Trump, is his latest victim Paul Ryan?
