I know you can transfer your old plates. That’s what I’m doing.well you will not pass inspection without a front plate.
another question do they give out EV plates or just regular plates?
I checked on the EV plates with the SA. He says RMV does not give out too many of EV plates anymore. So they install whatever they get. Most are *NON* EV (or regular) plates these days.well you will not pass inspection without a front plate.

ok my trade in plates can be transferred then.I know you can transfer your old plates. That’s what I’m doing.
Got full front and doors PPF, and ceramic. They took a few days longer than they were planning because of call outs. They were easy to work with and everything looks good.I just scheduled with Q car car in Burlington to get ceramic coating. Has anybody had any experience with Q car car?
If you want an ev plate you need to pay extra for it, RMV will be happy to sell you one. I have no idea what value they have or why one would want to spend the money. AFAIK nothing is different about them vs a standard plate.well you will not pass inspection without a front plate.

The extra you pay for EV plates goes to Elon Musk.I paid extra for the right whale plate, and apparently it goes to whale conservation.
Not sure what you get if you pay extra for the EV plate.
I think the EV plates are pretty much to let 1st responders know it is an EV so they don't electrocute themselves in the case of an accident or something like that. Not really necessary on a Tesla seeing that's all they sell.I paid extra for the right whale plate, and apparently it goes to whale conservation.

If it's for the safety of first responders why do they charge $60 for the privilege of having one? If that were true they'd be required, not an option. Having some EVs marked and others not would probably increase the possibility of danger, not decrease it if indeed first responders were relying on the plate (which I strongly doubt they do).I think the EV plates are pretty much to let 1st responders know it is an EV so they don't electrocute themselves in the case of an accident or something like that. The regular passenger vehicle plate also costs $60. There is no additional fee for the EV plate. It’s the same $60 whether it is regular or EV.If it's for the safety of first responders why do they charge $60 for the privilege of having one? If that were true they'd be required, not an option. To add to the confusion, they're not just for EV's, but also hybrids.
Oops, you’re right. I misread the table. . Sorry for the misinformation. The regular passenger vehicle plate also costs $60. There is no additional fee for the EV plate. It’s the same $60 whether it is regular or EV.
