Looks like we got some confirmation for AWD and Performance deliveries are slated for September:

Delivery Assistant (Temp) August 30 - Sept. 30: Airport Road, Miss. | Tesla

How do we know that delivery time frame includes AWD and P models? September is only 11 days away and that position ends on September 30. They would have to be shipping them soon from the factory to Ontario to make that time frame. Why would they do that in Ontario with no rebate? Perhaps this is another batch of RWD? If not, what makes you say they are AWD and P?

Well here's what we know:
  • It looks like Tesla in Toronto is prepping for another big batch of deliveries like they did June. The posting mirrors exactly the same job description as before, temporary position, at the International Centre, and cites overtime a good possibility.
  • Unless a lot of people won the lottery all at once, the deliveries will most likely be Model 3's rather than X's or S's
  • Last quarterly shareholder report by Tesla cited that AWD and Performance orders were a vast majority of orders when compared to the AWD orders.
  • This is Canada, so AWD in particular will be in high demand
  • Delivery timeline matches the one quoted by Tesla when we first configured out AWD/P orders
  • In order to meet that timeline, there's no way they can do it by sending one or two AWD or P orders at a time on a delivery truck. They will have to do a mass delivery like they did with RWD models.
  • Tesla's looking to sell as much as they can in the higher margin cars (AWD's and P's). If they were really serious in fulfilling RWD orders, they could've done it a long time ago with all the RWD that have been stock piled back in June/July.
  • According to a straw poll, not "everyone" cancelled their orders because of the EVHIP cancellation:

  • It also lines up with what the showroom staff have been stating that they expected AWD's to come in September
Also to clarify, I'm not stating this new delivery batch will be exclusively AWD/P, but there's a high probability that the latest batch will include AWD/P orders.

So I called in just now too. Rep told me VIN was assigned but couldn't tell what it was. Strange but I didn't question her.

She couldn't tell what the delivery time was gonna be like either. She said she has put in a request to my Delivery Specialist to get in touch with me and DS will respond in 24-48hrs.

LR RWD Pearl White. Reserved March 2018 and Ordered June 30th.

Are you able to see your VIN when you log into your account?

Not yet. My Delivery Specialist just called me and said he was gonna send me the VIN in an email for the time being to get the insurance setup.

Expect delivery after September 9th. So even if Tesla wins the lawsuit, it looks like majority of us might be receiving the car after September 10th cutoff.

It seems like many of the people in the last few pages who have gotten calls and VINs are RWD....I wonder how heavily the first two weeks (before sept 10) will be weighted towards RWD so that in case Tesla wins the court case all of those would be rebate eligible.

If that is the case, then the second half of the month could be weighted to AWD and PAWD? Even though I reserved in 2018, I'm hopeful that the AWD push will include me since Ontario is a comparatively small market compared to the US....2-3k cars in AWD probably would fill out outstanding orders for AWD and LR (at least that's my wishful thinking)...and that's 1/2 week of production only.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed.....

Tesla Inc has its ear to the ground in all things TESLA!

There was a huge push to deliver the first batch of Tesla 3 LR & PUP
before the June 6th Provincial election.
I believe 1850 Tesla 3 were delivered before the election to crystallize the
Ontario EV rebate.
You can bet your bottom dollar that Tesla will deliver LR & PUP TM3's before
the (arbitrary) Ontario EV expires on Sept 10.

Tesla is saying, "See you in court Buck a Beer Premier."

Tesla certainly dropped the ball on this one... slipped delivery to Canada beyond the cutoff. Horrible operations and planning.

Got an email from ISA with VIN # 95XXX which is finishing production and delivery expected 2nd week of September should shipping go smoothly. Also enquiring if I prefer Oakville or Lawrence pick up no mention of International Centre :) Any preference if Oakville or Lawrence delivery is better?
