Bc they could only take them into the mountains and windy roads of Malibu lolHow is it possible that out of all these so-called automotive reviewers (aka youtubers), not a single one of them got a 1/4mi dragy result?
They might have speed limited the cars. Could also be they were instructed not to.How is it possible that out of all these so-called automotive reviewers (aka youtubers), not a single one of them got a 1/4mi dragy result?
Any comments on 18” vs 19” square for this? From all that I've gathered so far, the brakes, hubs, and suspension components are carried over, so I'd say yes.
Of course, we will verify once we have the actual car. 19" square setups will be popular for this car now that it comes with staggered 20" wheels & tires from factory.

19" is more balanced aesthetically and will almost always clear M3P brakes. 18" is dependent on the wheel and its drop center.Any comments on 18” vs 19” square for this?
My bet is that it's part of an extended embargo or NDA kind of thing. They might have speed limited the cars. Could also be they were instructed not to.
I went through my summers in about 12k miles so i switched to A/S. I'm getting about 20k miles from these so thats a benefit. Noise? Incrementally more noise in my super noisy 2019 model 3 doesn't make a difference. Its all deafening to me anyway
Applying more power at the rear during an understeer condition will only serve to take weight off the front end AND try to accelerate the vehicle, which will result in severe understeer. Natural understeer is certainly considered safer than oversteer for most drivers, but it does not have any performance benefits. I will be ditching the staggered setup on my Plaid and going square to address this exact issue. If you go do a track day, you'll find that the skinny front tires are what is limiting your lateral grip.Technically, one should be able to benefit with a staggered setup for cornering.. the understeer produced should allow a bit more power down - assuming the power is available.
Every test I’ve seen looks like it’s done on public roads. I’m guessing Tesla didn’t let them take it to a track. How is it possible that out of all these so-called automotive reviewers (aka youtubers), not a single one of them got a 1/4mi dragy result?
This. Tesla must have told them not to and/or gave "exclusive rights" to someone (eg. Car Wow).Every test I’ve seen looks like it’s done on public roads. I’m guessing Tesla didn’t let them take it to a track.
What the heck! And we were just talking about silver...So Tesla added inventory Model Y Long Range and Performance trims in quicksilver! I would be pretty pissed if I took delivery and shortly after, this color became available for the M3P. I would pay for that color now.
I’d go square regardless.Applying more power at the rear during an understeer condition will only serve to take weight off the front end AND try to accelerate the vehicle, which will result in severe understeer. It’s very unlikely you’ll see it on other models. They’ve had quicksilver in other countries and recently expanded it. This was expected in the USA. It’s exclusive to Model Y in other countries as well. So we’d likely have to see a big change worldwide for Tesla to introduce it to other models. Also note they haven’t *added* colors in other countries, they’ve *replaced* colors for the new colors. So Tesla added inventory Model Y Long Range and Performance trims in quicksilver! Tesla will improve their paint facilities in United States eventually - everyone here complains about Tesla paint quality. It’s very unlikely you’ll see it on other models.
