Sometimes you might need to open and close the door to really wake the car up. But in either case it is hands free.
Somewhat contradictory (i.e. I've never managed to open and close a door without using my hands) ... but I think I get your meaning!

Yep - use it for exactly that purpose most days.Does the M3 key fob enable you to end charge/unlock charge port without having to go into the car and click on the screen (or having to open the app and do it from there)?

I’m thinking to change home lock to digital lock, so that only one mobile phone will do. Don’t like checking keys/wallet/phone all the time. No, but I now have a problem of what to do with my house key....
I’m sure I’ve seen you can press the charge port cap with you finger and it opens? I’ve bought a fob ....just waiting for the car now...Does the M3 key fob enable you to end charge/unlock charge port without having to go into the car and click on the screen (or having to open the app and do it from there)?

Great! Thanks, that justifies my fob purchaseYes, easy to plug in. Its the Unplug bit that is tricky.
Get phone out, launch APP, stop charge, press UNLOCK.
Or get in to car and do same from screen ... then get back out again to actually unplug.
Or have a Tesla Wall Charger, which has a button on the Wand to stop the charge and/or open the charge port (3rd party add-on buttons available [there has been chatter over the years, can't remember if the current crop are all Heath Robinson, or better than that] )
Or the Key Fob which allows press-and-hold fob-boot to do all that too.
If you check the details in the Tesla shop and the user guide you’ll read that it does.Does the keyfob allow you to open the frunk and boot like the keyfob on the model S does?
Yes it does.If you check the details in the Tesla shop and the user guide you’ll read that it does.
What's wrong with getting an extra band?If I could actually attach my house keys to it then I may consider it but as you can’t without buying an extra band to wrap around it then I see it as just another thing to carry around or lose.
Well its another £17 on top and kind of spoils the look. What's wrong with getting an extra band?
I will.does anybody just carry around the fob by itself loose in their pocket?
I do. It’s not as much of a pain as I expected it to be, as it turns out.… does anybody just carry around the fob by itself loose in their pocket?
