I was not informed that my car was ready and I had no VIN assigned yet. However, I had put in the registrant info and payment info after my order on 10/23. The next step was to put in the insurance info but since I had no VIN assigned yet I could not proceed with that. Last Friday, I had an online chat with Tesla telling them that I want to take delivery in 2022 because of the EV tax credit and hence put a hold on the delivery. They got the best contact information from me but nobody called. Then this morning, I checked my status and it was put on hold until 12/31 and I got the SMS text message that I will take delivery in 2022. My original EDD window was 11/23-12/21. Hope that helps.
