Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

This site may earn commission on affiliate links.
I ordered a Tesla Model 3 at the end of August 2021 with an ETA of February/March, then got delayed to September 2022, then back down to Early April to Early May, then bumped to Mid-May 2022 to Mid-June 2022, and now back to September 2022.

Anywone else got this bouncing around? Its starting to get on my nerves...
Did you finalize whether you are financing or paying cash? If not I’d say just put cash as your payment option and you’ll start moving along the process. I ordered 11/19/21 and didn’t get assigned until I called asking for a performance model

I just wanted to go for a drive before posting more. ;)

Ryzen chip: yes
Li-Ion: unknown
Heated Wipers: yes
Double-glass, rear doors: No

"Issues"
Please feel free to say if you think any of these are normal, and I'm being nit-picky.

1. Does Tesla not actually paint inside the door hinge area? (Both front doors) (My Infiniti and the wife's Rogue are both fully painted in there.)

2. Rear bumper, pretty sure this will buff out.

3. Passenger side, at trunk / rear window, panel alignment seems off.

4. Passenger side, at headlamp, panel alignment:

5. It seems to me that the panel gaps where the quarter panel meets the A-column should match better between driver & passenger sides.

Because that gap on the driver’s side seems too wide to me:

To me, #1 and #5 are the biggest issues. Opinions are welcomed and desired, thank you.

I just check mine and its fully painted. I also checked our Cadillac XT4 and it looks just like your Tesla.

Yeah, the lack of updates worries me a little too but it makes me feel better that I’m not the only one.
My OD was 2/26, got the one EDD for 5/13-6/10 the next day after I finalized everything and haven’t gotten another since.

Others did say they had the same where they got one EDD then didn’t get anything else until their VIN was assigned weeks later. It really is so random on now some get multiple EDD changes weekly and others get none until closer to pickup/delivery.

So I finally made the change back to msm 2 days ago and my EDD went from 4/23-5/21 to 3/24-3/31 this morning... we'll see if it sticks though. I'm just glad I made the change when I did as they just raised prices by a grand yesterday. Had I waited 1 more day I would have had to pay the higher cost.

So… A thing happened today:

I bought that Infiniti G35 in 2003 with 14 miles on the odometer. 19.5 years later, now with 83,262 miles, it’s service to me shall not be forgotten. I drove it four times coast-to-coast, plus twice round trip between Chicago and Boston, so the mileage could have even been almost 18,000 miles less!

The 3 had 6 miles on it when I pulled out of that parking spot. I’m going to post my pictures of “issues” in a separate post.
I had an ‘11 G37. May it rest in peace as my daughter last year drove it into a stone mailbox and the mailbox won. Everyone fine of course, but now work is saying come back to the office so a car I must purchase. Something amazing about that rear wheel beauty. I’m looking for that same feeling with the Tesla.
