Wiki Model Accessories Mega List / Cheat Sheet

This site may earn commission on affiliate links.
I have compiled a list of all the Model Y accessories that I find useful, to possibly save other members the hours of research I’ve done, and lessons learnt from accessories that either did or didn’t work well on my M3.

I haven’t included items that I think are pointless, such as the screen protector, which is not necessary for protection on a screen that can’t be dropped, and not necessary for cleaning as the screen is very easy to clean with a dry microfibre cloth, and also not necessary for preventing reflections as I’ve had no issues with reflections at all.

If anyone has any suggestions for decent accessories then please share them, if I buy any of them I’ll add them to the list.

In no particular order:

  1. Tesla key fob: Model 3/Y Key Fob - Makes opening frunk and unlocking charge port much more convenient, also acts as a keycard even if fob battery runs out, meaning you don’t need to carry a keycard.
  2. Tesla console accessory trays: https://shop.tesla.com/en_gb/product/model-3_y-console-accessory-trays - Tesla don’t include these for free anymore!
  3. Power boot lid foot sensor: https://www.greendrive-accessories.com/en/products/302/-rear-trunk-lid-with-foot-tesla-model-3-2021-3701388104935.html - Great for opening the boot when your hands are full.
  4. Boot side storage bins: https://tessories.uk/product/model-y-boot-storage-bins/ - Just over half the price of the genuine Tesla ones.
  5. Ultra bright boot LED: https://tessories.uk/product/model-y-boot-light/ - Much brighter than the standard little light.
  6. Cup holder stabiliser: https://tessories.uk/product/model-y-3-cup-holder-stabilizer/ - Still allows use of big bottles, but keeps smaller ones steadier.
  7. Jack pads: Jack Pads for Tesla – Tessories - Essential if you have a jack without a large rubber saddle.
  8. 3D all weather floor mats: Amazon.co.uk - 80.59US $ 54% OFF|For Tesla Model 3 Car Waterproof Non slip Floor Mat TPE XPE Modified Car Accessories Fully Surrounded Model Y Special floor mats|Floor Mats| - AliExpress - Great for winter use, keep the carpet mats nice for summer.
  9. Sandisk 128gb max endurance microSD card: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B084CJ9T2R?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title&th=1 and USB adapter: https://www.amazon.co.uk/SanDisk-SDDR-B531-GN6NN-MobileMate-USB-Reader/dp/B07G5JV2B5?pd_rd_w=HNYZj&pf_rd_p=93639d66-4333-47a2-9afc-2b6ef148d92c&pf_rd_r=Q8AT2W8A033P40RS4ED8&pd_rd_r=10bd3e12-165f-4107-9860-22483eaa02ed&pd_rd_wg=aV1Zg&pd_rd_i=B07G5JV2B5&psc=1&ref_=pd_bap_m_rp_1_sc - Tesla USB stick is not designed to be constantly written to.
  10. Kwmobile keyfob cover: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B07SPL9NB6?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title - Protects keyfob, enables it to be attached to a keyring, and makes finding the buttons easier.
  11. Real carbon fibre spoiler: https://www.greendrive-accessories.com/en/products/511/-6329-performance-spoiler-tesla-model-y.html#/1421-type_of_carbon-carbon_matt - I have the matte one, which looks identical to the Tesla Performance spoiler.
  12. 2022 Stainless steel pedals: https://www.greendrive-accessories.com/en/products/205/-8442-custom-pedals-tesla-model-3-and-tesla-model-y-3701388102610.html#/1143-color-grey/1772-tesla_model-tesla_model_3_and_tesla_model_y_after_2022 - Make sure to get 2022 ones, the brake pedal one is curved and doesn’t have the cross on the back now.
  13. Frunk shopping bag hooks: Front Trunk Hanging Hooks for Model Y – Tessories
  14. Boot shopping bag hooks: Model Y Trunk Hanging Hooks – Tessories
  15. Black door latch covers: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255269868872?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=o7ttrtJrT3u&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=rnqCLcR6T8S&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY - OK not essential, but I like them.
  16. Tesla Frunk carpet mat: https://shop.tesla.com/en_gb/product/model-y-carpet-front-trunk-mat - Very cheap for genuine Tesla!
  17. Matte black Tesla T badge covers: https://m.aliexpress.com/item/1005003266039362.html?spm=a2g0n.order_detail.0.0.46cff19cC4o1ym - Don’t bother with the replacement metal black badges, I had them on the M3 and they corroded from the winter road salt!
  18. Paint touch up pen: TESLA DEEP BLUE PEARL PPSB TOUCH UP PEN REPAIR PAINT BRUSH SCRATCH MODEL X S | eBay
  19. Temai phone mount: https://www.amazon.co.uk/TEMAI-Model-Gravity-Phone-Mount/dp/B09B6X8131/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=3NX5PSLJBXMDA&keywords=temai+model+3&qid=1648981237&sprefix=temai,aps,52&sr=8-3 - Great for Google maps, Waze or Apple maps.

I was looking at those however I wondered if it would catch on the all weather floor mats when you wanted something out of it, or alternatively would it fly forward under the random breaking I keep hearing about
Saw a video on YT with this type of drawer and all weather mats. They can catch but raising the seat height allowed them to be pulled out. May vary by brand of course.

I’m collecting my MY on the 20th and starting to think about accessories - has anyone got the following, and if so where from and would you recommend:
- sliding console organiser
- second row console bin
- textile/carpet floor mats (not all weather). In fact I’m confused as to whether these come with the car anyway?

I ordered the sliding console organiser from Tesla, Tessories does a second row console bin, the car does come with textile floor mats so if I were you I would wait until you get the car before deciding if you need any others.

Thanks for replying. I can’t see the sliding console organiser on Tesla’s online store any more so I guess it’s been discontinued. Good to know about the mats - I can put those funds into some other accessories 😅

Thank you. I don’t think these ones slide though? I was looking at something like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/version-Or...cphy=1007008&hvtargid=pla-1229039826917&psc=1
Where the top tray seems to slide. Not sure if anyone has similar and how they find it?

So I caved in to the frenzy and I bought these:

Still on my list:

Did I miss something? :D
Reference the boot corner storage bins and carpeted lids, I have Tesla's and find them very useful particularly for hard objects ; the tire compressor, cans of puncture foam plus whatever else you like in a can. Also, the carpet covered lids provide a really nice neat flush floor look. (Easy for me to say).

I am awaiting availability of the rubber door pocket liners (no EDD) which should also be good for hard objects and the containment of spillages.

I also have Tesla's console trays, rear seat dog liner (brilliant bit of kit) and, also a must, the double cupholder rubber liner, though I am not sure now if it is Tesla OEM but it is really useful.

All weather mats: I bought them from DIM Motox. They are still in the box (since I received my first of many Q2 EDDs in March).

The car comes with a fixed textile floor liner and removable textile mats. I also bought a set custom textile mats from Car Mats UK who offer contrasting edging and monograming.

I prefer carpet to all weather(AW)* but will use the luggage space AW for our first European touring holiday in Lizzie - sadly sans Lottiedog - lights out 0730BST 20th September. (can't wait).

For us, the AW mats are more for protection against personal luggage and cargo than weather protection. It is easy to change shoes; who wants to drive in muddy boots.

I particularly like the AW mats that are made for the second row seat backs. Be sure to get the three piece set which give greater flexibility if one needs to drop a seat or two forward in the unlikely event that one has to accommodate a case or two of "cordial" on the return journey.

I have the trunk (for and aft) floor mats but have not yet placed these either. The Tesla OEM outdoor car cover keeps the charger cables company up front. For the rear, I have some plastic hooks to retain the grocery bags which occasionally nestle over the safety kit in its fetching red zip bag.

Accessory shopping is great therapy as you move inexorably toward your Quarter's Graduation.

* I get that the AWs are practical and are fine in the boot, but they give, IMHO, our elegant interiors a rather utilitarian look. I'd rather wash the carpets as and when.

PS I really love my red calliper covers. I have the plain, logo free ones. Of course, Y Performance people get the real thing.
PPS Lottie is extant and doing well but she is a little too "mature" for touring this year.

Now then.... SWMBO says. "A little too mature? And the pilot?? And as for AWs, I am often tempted to get them for the living room"
What can she mean?

I got my Y in late May 2022, and started to install some simple accessories.

Basenor White Seat Covers from Amazon for about $115 open box (price has increased to $300+ since) + $240 installation = $355
Seat covers are nice. Driver side is not a perfect fit on the left side, and back bottom flap's sticky tape doesn't keep in place. Driver seat bulges up. Rear seats are now very thick and the auto fold down button will not release the seats to fold down on their own. The seats are now 3 weeks old. I wiped them with CarPro's Perl. There is some dark marks from my jeans but they wipe clean easily. I'll post some pictures of what the Perl does to tires, wheel fender trim, interior dash, door trim and seats soon.

I bought a lot more accessories but haven't had time to install them yet. Will post after I install them.
