Wiki Model S Delivery Update

In some cases towards the end of Sig deliveries it makes sense to start up P deliveries. As an example....my VIN # is 1069 and I am expecting delivery in about two weeks. There is another Sig in Houston that will probably ride the truck with my car and there is an early P in McKinney, Texas that should ride with our Texas cars because of the economics of the situation. Adhering to the concept that P cars will not be delivered until all Sigs have been delivered is a nice gesture, but if it makes economical sense for Tesla to break that intention a few times doesn't bother me one bit. It would be good business sense to mix it up at the end.

My delivery specialist called me today and indicated that I will be sent a packet of paperwork either today or tomorrow that will help me to get my vehicle registered here in Texas. He said that my car should be going through the final stage soon and will probably be shipping in a week or so after it is completed. I am guessing that delivery will be 10 to 14 days from now...he agreed that this is very likely the timeframe. This is going to be a tough couple of weeks....but will be so nice when it happens.

I had a nice chat with someone at TM who is purported to be a step above the guys I had been talking to. One of the things he mentioned, or alluded to, was that once the sigs are done with and deliveries scheduled, they would be implementing some sort of automated tracking system for the P reservation holders (early Dec), that he said should clear things up quickly. Because I'm P-83 I'm hoping they schedule my delivery before I need the new system!

I think that this is the first report of a car at "zero" miles in the battery still being able to drive "a couple of miles" even at low power.
Maybe for an S, but not for an R

I've been trying to follow the posts here, but can anybody comment of those who ordered the 3rd row jump seats if anyone has had it installed/delivered? If you'd rather cross post you can do so here:
http://www.teslamotorsclub.com/show...e-optional-jump-seats-had-their-car-delivered

Was stated somewhere recently that the supplier of the jump seats had not met expectations and a new supplier had been sourced but obviously needed time to get up to speed. IIRC source of this info was Tesla management at the CoTY event. (I'm mobile this a.m. and can't do a search)

Wow that's a late res with early vin. Wonder what happened there. Congrats martianizer have fun!

Probably VIN 254 backed out and Martinizer picked the same set of options (what are the chances of that) or was able to make minor changes to already half-built car.

I was on the sig wait list and was thiiiiis close, literally on my way to the bank to wire the 35K deposit . Then I got a call to HOLD ON.. and I was told of a person who backed out and there were going to open up a slot but someone decided to pick up the same car that the previous buyer backed out on. I'm guessing this is what he was talking about.

Is it a non-Performance?

Several non-Performance Signatures were getting built early while waiting on parts for the Performance models. Most of the out-of-order early deliveries VINS were in the 200 range and lower.

They may have started building his car and then set it aside once they began working on the Performance versions again so that they could start delivering cars more in sequence.

It's performance. I have no idea why it is such a low VIN.
