This is a new addition, was not there in 18.6IThe followup question is, how long has that comment been in the firmware code? Could it date back to the original?
@verygreen, in a previous reply to me, you mentioned that you are using a decompiler to examine source code. How on Earth are you getting access to code comments? Decompilers can't reconstruct those.So... I have some potentially very disappointing news for old MCU users.
I'll let you draw conclusions yourself from this comment found in a recent firmware:
Code:/* Overrides for platforms that have newer WebKit versions which can parse thise section and new special font handling for differences since the original Qt WebKit. */
I don't know my exact production date, but was notified of completion on 2/22/18.It's not just about ViN comparisions, it's about when it was produced...there have been 246xxx viN with the old MCU. What was your production date?
Can anyone set up a page to enter production dates, Vins, etc for comparisions?
I called SC and explained my position that in a car, which I brought brand new, was a brand new MCU that failed under warranty and it is just reasonable to expect the replacement of that MCU to be brand new, not remanufactured. They offered me one extra year of warranty on the REMAN MCU which I declined and they said, ok, bring it in. It only took one phone call. But, if I were you, I would call now to lodge the complain get the ball rolling, get SC to commit to replacement, then wait a month or so to make sure new model MCU trickle down to SCsHmm... Planning to go in for yearly service in about a month. Do you think they would honor another swap if I complain about the reman part? Might get lucky and get one of the new MCUs. How did you approach the SC? Should they not have replaced failing screen with a remanufactured part? Thx
I’m taking delivery of my new MX 100D on Friday. I emailed my DS just a few minutes about this, he confirmed that my MX has the new MCU. It started production on 2/28 with a 901xx VIN
So picking up my MS today. I know that somewhere in this thread is a program to run on the system. Could someone get me that info so after I go through the process and after having a joy ride, i can run the program. I will most likely know when they are going through the car, but I could then verify it.
Thanks
This was in a css for internal UI elements (some of which are implemented via javascript and html and styles).@verygreen, in a previous reply to me, you mentioned that you are using a decompiler to examine source code. Just as an FYI your warranty specifically states that they can/will use remanufactured parts. So they don't have to replace it. If I were them I would make sure to set aside a new Tegra based MCU just for you.
Does the new MCU still have the failing flash storage soldered on?
