update: VIN finally got assigned today (5/17/23) and delivery scheduled for 5/22/23. Also you can ask Tesla to provide an expedited trade in value - just let them know you have an external offer that is time sensitive. They were able to provide it for me before VIN got assigned but just know its only good for 30 days

Yea...I really wish we can get to know why...hopefully it's just a matter of mass producing in batches of certain configurations.
Interesting! I wonder if people with prior experience on this process can chime what is the rhyme and rhythm of how Tesla prioritizes/cooordinates productions of certain configurations.
Yeah, it's a little frustrating that someone who ordered their car 14 days after I did already has a VIN and a set delivery date (no offense pjsc1262), and there has been no communication from Tesla on a delay from the original EDD of April-May. Am I wrong, or am I just impatient?
I'm holding out hope that it's not the case given there are simply not a lot of white interior for all MYs in inventory right now.
The white interiors come from a different vendor so their may be a supply issue.
EDD 4 May 19 - May 28.
Delivery center confirmed car being transported and has ETA of May 21. Likely deliverable around May 23.

You should be able to go through as if you're going to change it and then it will tell you what the change difference price wise is and then you can approve it or just close it out and keep it as is
I would guess this is the situation where you had "edit design" option on your account page. I don't have that option there and I asked two SAs, they gave opposite answers, so I am hesitant.
If you log into the Tesla website and go to manager order it should have the edit option. You'll see any price difference before you commit. I originally ordered in black and switched to white last month so that is my minimal but personal experience.
Massive dump of 58 white interiors on waiting for Tesla.com this evening! None are standards but that's a good sign I think that they release so many white ones.
Yup. The vast majority are 7 seaters and perhaps production is working its way down the totem pole?
I missed that it was almost all seven seaters they added! That is interesting! Fingers crossed
