MY LR questions on the UK spec

Hi all,
Newbie here and have a couple of questions as the Tesla site is not very clear. I’m looking at ordering or buying an inventory model of the above, but does anyone know the following;
  • Which panels are acoustic glass (ie is the roof)?
  • Has the uk orders or inventory started to get HW4, or are they all HW3?
  • In the Enhanced Auto Pilot, what is actually live and works now?
  • In the app after purchasing what options for upgrades are there to uk people (accelerate boost etc)?
  • Would you buy now, or wait till the end of the year?
Thanks all
Rob

I don't believe the roof is acoustic. seems to be just a single thickness
The only upgrade options are acceleration boost, EAP and FSD, there is also monthly subscription to premium connectivity
Whether to buy now depends on your circs. It is probably not a good time to buy new outright now for cash. Not a bad time to buy used though.
Could be a 2wd LR incoming if that interests you.

New ones being delivered soon should be HW4

And a possible price raise too? Or Tesla up the interest rate on Model Y on PCP deals etc., Tesla does different things and very difficult to predict. You may gain something but lose something :)

The current finance rate says it's valid for orders and delivered made before 30/06/24, so as long as that stays, nothing is lost.

Have to admit, with these rates, the performance model is temping.

So, back to this old tread.

Has anyone had any updates on the latest deliveries on the following?
  • Which panels are acoustic glass (ie is the roof)?
  • Has the uk orders or inventory started to get HW4, or are they all HW3?
  • In the Enhanced Auto Pilot, what is actually live and works now?
  • Can UK people do a subscription to Enhanced AP, or is it still an outright purchase?
  • In the app after purchasing what options for upgrades are there to uk people (accelerate boost etc)?
Side note, has anyone else spotted the new cherry red on the ordering page?

Automatic lane change only and nope, just outright purchase. Having said that Tesla apply EAP to all their used vehicles, but since their prices are about £3K higher than any other used car dealer I'm not sure this is a saving.

Remember that EAP (and FSD 🤣) can be purchased for no additional premium (vs with car order) after the car has been delivered. Pretty much instant purchase via the app.

No need to spec up front and there is the occasional trial period when buying some cars so the ability to try before you decide to buy (or not).

The only upside in buying it upfront is that you can actually finance it with the car...

The roof is a single layer, but really it's not a significant source of noise, that more comes from the wheels and air past mirrors etc. I suppose maybe if you have roof bars but I've never experienced this.

You'll drive yourself nuts waiting for the 'best spec' of the car, HW4 might be arriving now but HW5 is already being talked about. The Model Y refresh Juniper will come at some point, new paint options etc. etc. It's constantly evolving. Just buy when you want and you'll get the best Tesla as that time if buying new. It's a different type of ownership experience as software updates bring new features that for me at least keep the car feeling 'new' longer.

Having had 2 new Model 3s now I'll be looking for 2nd hand next time, so many available and a significant saving. About 2 years is ideal of the previous owner to have got Tesla to deal with any issues with the new car :)

I took delivery of a preconfigured Shanghai quicksilver MYLR at Manchester last week. I asked them to check a few cars for HW4 - they had some blue and white MYLR available with HW3. The quicksilver is HW4 and has a later VIN than the others. You would assume that cars ordered now coming from Berlin will have HW4, but I haven't seen it confirmed yet, and the Tesla advisor couldn't confirm 100%.

This is what drives me a bit mad. HW4 has something that future-proofs a couple of years for hardware, as the software can then get "best" updates. I know it's different buying from Tesla, but to buy a car and not be able to tell in advance if you are committing £60k+ to old tech is a sticking point.
