MYP UK Waiting Room

Isn't waiting anymore! Took delivery today - wife drove it (I can't due to recent op 🤬🤬🤬 - but will be soon) but we are proud owners of Senna!

Had a quick play, set up home & work locations for Sentry omission. Renamed, put the boot boxes in, frunk carpet, console tray (which neatly slides way forward which is pretty cool) Loads more to do tomorrow too - too tired now.

Has anyone found USB-B outputs for power (not sentry obvs) on these cars yet, I think I've found 4 x USB-C's but no B's - which is very frustrating, meaning I need to update all my power cables 😤

I've found a cig lighter port under the arm rest and that's about it....
I got a couple of usb-c to usb 3 adapters

So picked up yesterday @ Brent Cross. Pretty crappy experience;

  • Drove 1.5hrs to Brent Cross, despite being 20mins from Bluewater/Dartford - ok not the the end of the world
  • Arrived at handover and the team were lovely.
  • Took V5C and keycards of the M3P I was trading in. No further inspection so I took a few snaps of the car in situ just in case of any shenanigans (see below).
  • App handover was immediate - incredibly seamless experience. Great.
  • Car was "washed" but nowhere near what we would normally do - soap scum, spotting, etc. Fine.
  • Did a quick exterior check - and spotted. INSANE SCRATCHES. See photos;

IMG_9014.jpeg

  • Pics are of the main one (full width of the car, through to Body in white). There are several more on the rear and a few other areas that could probably be buffed. SUCH a shame as the paintwork looks amazing. Terrible.
  • I would guess these happened in the Brent Cross car park with the washing team there... Got a very funny look from one of the girls doing a "wash" as I was stood with the Tesla rep.
  • The only recourse was "raise service ticket". He stressed that they literally can do NOTHING at the handover. Rejection was discussed but it was as if I'd talked about genocide - he was completely averse to that route.
  • Got the car booked in for Wednesday at Dartford. SO did not need another task on the to do list, because...
  • If you followed my previous post, INSURANCE was another nightmare. Quick rundown;
    • I am with ByMiles - super happy and pay £600/year for Central London postcode parked on street.
    • They can't swap the car without DVLA registration. This hadn't happened by time of pickup.
    • Then spent 3 hours (sat in the car in Brent Cross) investigating EVERY insurance product in the UK.
      • All Driveaway or temp cover resulted in either flat NO, or unable to proceed because MYP not listed in their lookup database.
      • Called 8 specialist brokers and all said NO for a combo of either MYP and temp
    • The only option I had was to get another Annual quote from the big guys - cheapest quote I got is DirectLine @ £1400 for Annual cover.
    • After 3 hours stationary and no success, I just drove home. Big no, no; I know - but could not see any other way of doing it. It's sat outside the house not moving until I can do it all.
  • Then paid for Congestion charge, ULEZ, Parking permit manually, because NONE of those systems recognise the car (and it's Electric nature) until DVLA has registered it. Aaaaargrghhh.
  • BUT; the car.... is... AMAZING
    • Build quality +50% on M3P from Fremont (The door closes are BRILLIANT)
    • Build materials +100% (so much squidgy stuff instead of plastic)
    • Space +300% - the boot! The frunk! The underboot! The under-underboot! The side-underboot! SO MUCH SPACE
    • Speed -10% on M3P but didn't get much of a chance to test... It's barely perceptible
    • Ride Quality +50% on M3P - I can't believe how much better it is. Feels almost like a RRSport that I've occasionally had... SO much less rattly and shaky.
    • Noise +100% (quieter!) - HUGE difference... immediately noticeable
    • Interior +40% Great new roof glass. Seats same.
Can't wait for one of you fine folks to point out the basic thing I should have done to fix my insurance woes, but nonetheless, my two cents.

My "Matt Watson" advice is;

- M3P: Buy it
- MYLR: If before '23 then Buy it, otherwise consider
- Anything similar in the class that runs on dinosaur juice or otherwise: Buy it... JUST for the space frankly.

Will update with the Dartford service as I think it's the worst damage I've seen on delivery (apart from wheel curbing?) - I am going to gun for gear as compensation...

Horror story with the paint; looks like they cleaned it with a grit laden cloth! I guess you could have taken out insurance with DL etc and then cancelled within the 14 day cooling off period - you'd only then get charged for the days you used it.

Collection tomorrow. I booked my collection a few days ago via web chat. Did anyone get a confirmation text? The app shows collection tomorrow, not sure if I should be worried. I want nothing to ruin the excitement. I hope the car it there!

This gives me the fear of god! On my last new car collection I gave them strict instructions not to touch the paint and collected with transport stickers still on. Saved me 2 days of paint correction.

Don’t think that scratch would polish out though!

Have they stopped shipping the centre console tray now? My M3P had one in the part under the arm rest, but the MYP didn't, even though there are the same grooves there for it.. if I had known, I would have taken the one from the M3 before I gave them the keys 🧐

That scratching is HORRENDOUS! I'm now terrified of what I'm going to find at Brent Cross! 😳

I have to wait until 21/12 but that seriously looks like they're wiping down after washing with sandpaper!

Good luck with your collection! 👍
Cheers! One of the reasons I went white was to avoid these issues. I had a black car before and even after it was professionally detailed and maintained you see the odd marks. Very difficult to maintain. Cant wait till tomorrow. the wait is killing me!

Bit of a long shot - has anyone who ordered via a lease co before the price increases had confirmation of their P11d value (for company car tax purposes)?

It seems LEX are stating P11d values based on the current price / when it was registered in the UK, rather than the price when the order was confirmed. The 'Taxable List Price' when I ordered was £66,035 but they're claiming the P11d value is £69,035.

I've asked why there's such a difference between the two figures but not had a response yet.

Apologies if this has been asked before but:

What comes with the car.

I assume that it 2 key cards.

Does it come with any charging cables or anything else?

Also I have tried to add the vehicle to the app but it says I can't as the vehicle is a lease... when will I be able to add it?

Concerning, I am also with LEX.

Still waiting on delivery so not quite sure what the P11D value will be when it does come. But if it is the higher figure then the extra cost in BIK will only be £2 per month (if you are in the 40% tax bracket)

If you look back a few posts you will answer your first two.
Car will appear in your app when the owner (lease company) enable it.

Wow that’s pretty terrible for a 70k car. It’s such a shame as the paint work is very premium. They’re really falling over in the last mile here which is a shame. Feel like it needs a 2.0 honestly.

I picked up last Saturday. Weather has been atrocious. Done 170miles total. Finally the rain broke and I cleaned it. Just noticed two scratches to the front bumper so I just booked in at dartford for a service on Monday. Caught is just in time before the 7days is up.

I thought their it’s 100 miles or 7 days limit?
