Navigation Update 2020

Apologies if this is mentioned elsewhere.

Just dropped my daughter at school and while playing with the settings it began a Navigation Update over wifi only (quite large download).

2019 SR+, had 28.2 a few days ago.

I'll report back once it's finished.

Is a Nav update different from a software update?

Yeah. It’s in the same in-car screen as software updates appear, but it’s maps for navigating speed limits, traffic lights, roundabouts etc

you don’t see it notified in the app at all though

Hopefully puts the missing roads In and corrects the speed limits!

this map update might mean reacting to traffic lights will soon be with us.... IIRC map updates preceded this functionality in USA and Canada.

Done in the background apparently, does not a version etc.

It is quite a weighty update. Our Google router shows the M3 has downloaded 7.2GB this morning and the only update has been Navigation Data.

Well I could take it no longer so I went out to the car and it started to download the Nav update at least. I'll give it the 45 minutes needed.
