New M3LR stuck on firmware 2021.3.103

Still no update here. It’ll come I’m sure, just wish I better understood what the holdup is (for). Wondering if it has anything to do with mileage? At almost 900 miles. Those that got the update, what was your mileage?

My M3LR was delivered on 7/31 and I'm still on the original version (2021.3.104). I just chalked it up to being a new car. Though most of us Tesla buyers tend to be a bit more on the "techie" side, I kind of assumed the initial delay is to get new owners used to the interface and features before something drastic was changed/added.

I seem to recall that way back when it took a while. I think it was around 4-5 weeks for that first one, but felt like longer.
Of course since then the car has had a gazillion updates - more accurately, 87 since May '18
Still no discernible pattern

Tesla has a process. Only Tesla knows what it is. You will get it when you get it... it's gotta be the hardest thing for a new owner to figure out. If you're going to stress out that SOMEONE has a newer version than you... well, you're going to be stressed out 100% of the time. When one update rolls out - they are testing 1 or more ahead of you. They always start with a few, then a few more, then larger and larger groups... it takes a couple of weeks for a new build to make it fleet wide and by the time it does, they have rolled out the next one to a few cars.

All we know is the heuristics from following it over the years. It seems when you take delivery, your car will come with a build that is "factory" in that no one else will seem to have it. Right now, it's seems like it's 2012.3.xxx. For whatever reason, it takes some time for your VIN to be put in "the system" for updates. Sometimes a month or more.

As an anecdote, I've had my car almost three years and there was only one time I got notified of a new software ready to install in my car and I had not seen it reported online at all. That day changed my life. Women wanted me, men wanted to be me. Everyone would just pull off the side of the road and let me have the freeway to myself. I had a police escort to and from work. Elon himself came over for dinner and we laughed and laughed at all the losers who didn't yet have the latest software. We wondered how they would get out of bed in the mornings. Where would they muster the courage?! I mean it could be hours, dare I say, DAYS until they would be blessed with all of the "minor bug fixes and improvements" that update would bestow upon them!!

Nobody know when it will updated. I just drop any expectation and stopped to check especially when you hear every day empty promises from owner. When it happen- happen.

I took delivery of my first M3 in December and the second on July 27. I'm stuck on 2021.3.104 for the second. For the first one in December, I got a S/W update the next day and then another 2 weeks later. So I don't think it's related to getting the owner used to it. I personally believe they have something in this particular release that is collecting data about the vision system(without radar) or something else. Once they're satisfied, they will roll it out newer versions to us. But that's just one of my crazy theories!

Welcome to the club. Myself waiting on 3 month and who are you will ask why our cars not updated? No one have a clue why including Tesla service and support.

I think you right. Only vision cars have a delay.

Took delivery M3LR 6/29. Next day got 2021.4.18.10. Then 4.21.3 like everybody else like 6 weeks or whatever ago. Now sitting at this waiting.

Seems like May, June July and maybe a short period of August cars vision only are stuck at the 4.21.3. August and Sept are now starting on 21.11.103 as an estimate. Seems more Sept deliveries are showing up from factory with this.

I decided to attach a PDF of such cars from TeslaFi to show that some vision only cars have been updated past 2021.4.21.3, the X notes model y only because I have a vision only model y with VIN 185XXX

The Vision vehicles are being held back because the software isn't ready. I'm hoping the 32.10 release goes well for the extremely small number of Vision cars that have gotten it so far and that release expands to all Vision vehicles. Sadly, I think us Vision owners are waiting for the "single stack" approach that FSD beta 10.1 will have.

I'm hoping the 32.10 release goes well for the extremely small number of Vision cars that have gotten it so far and that release expands to all Vision vehicles. Crap. I'm coming up on 2 months and already have 2,300 miles and still stuck on the version it was delivered with (2021.3.103). We are having various issues which we hope new software may address, such as YouTube locking up and various strange AC behavior.

I was at a service center for installing HomeLink (another dropped ball, they were supposed to come to our home then rescheduled another 2-3 weeks ahead, so I told them look I need this installed, can I just bring it in so it's not sitting in a box in my house, but I digress..), I begged and pleaded with them to take the new car build flag off our car. Absolutely no budging. Was escalated to the "shop foreman" and nada. I even showed them TeslaFi numbers, like look, there's over 1000 Model Ys on 2021.24.11. Looks that, as of right now, there are 53 other Model Ys on TeslaFi on 2021.3.103 (54 total including me).

I hope so, at least the wait will be worth it. Ironically I just got the Disney+ update on my previous car right before I traded in, which was also the first real update after months of cold weather improvements now back to waiting for a real update again
