Interesting.

This tells us that Berlin (the only paint shop equipped to spray those colours) has finally started producing RHD vehicles and shipping to UK & Ireland.

That indirectly also goes part way to explaining some of the production cut and reduction in number of shifts at Shanghai as that RHD supply changes factory.

Likely will bring some logistics benefits with the Suez Canal disruption, possible hit to COGS from higher labour costs in Germany but probably not as much as it could be when you account for reduction in shipping costs around the horn.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see a boost to UK & Ireland sales based on this change as some who have been wanting the new colours finally have a reason to pull the trigger on an upgrade.

They’ve been shipping these new colour to China the last few months so don’t think it necessarily means the will come from Berlin

I really like the new colours, Quicksilver in particular, the cost is silly though, £2600 for the Midnight Cherry and Quicksilver, £1300 for the Black and Blue.

Can't wait for the Juniper now the new colours are out :)
I agree it's extremely expensive for paint, feel like they want people to just go for white as it makes it easier for them to produce.

I remember when I ordered my M760Li and I had a BMW Individual Blue rather than one of the off the shelf colours, that was £3k and they told me they have to take the car off the normal production line into a specialist paint shop for the Individual colours. No way it's that complex for Tesla and while there's been some inflation since I ordered that car, it still seems really steep to me.

Just wait until towards the end of quarter when it’ll be offered for free.
Good point, but I haven't seen any reductions for a while, and I've been waiting so long for Tesla to sort out the parking issues that I've decided to wait for Juniper. It may be a while I know, but it's likely to be the last car I buy, so worth the wait :)

Have Tesla ever offered any other colour than white for free on the MY? I know the Midnight Silver is in the US, but I've not seen anything other than white for free here.

Not Cherry red, only the new Ultra red. At this stage we don't know if China has been updated to spray Cherry red or they will come from Berlin.

ATM no other countries supplied by China have Cherry Red as an option - which implies they could have switched UK production to Berlin.

Kind of makes sense as it’ll reduce their shipping costs nicely plus no risk of increased tariffs coming from China.

Yes sorry only Quicksilver, there was a rumour this morning saying Berlin are making cars to be shipped to India (RHD) so would make sense for UK cars to be built at same time
