No recent VIN assignments?

@MikeNewhouse Wow, really? I just talked to my delivery specialist. Said the aero wheel production issue is nonsense. But it’s not like they’re going to admit it. He said moving up to 19s would not get my car any faster.

I agree. Everyone is organizing the spreadsheet by VIN, but *of course* VINs correspond to build types. They pull out of block of VINs and assemble them as a single configuration. But we all know VINs are not sequential when it comes to actual production.

If you sort by scheduled delivery date going all the way back to November, you'll notice no trend in 18" or 19" orders going all the way out to March 23rd except that there are more 18s than 19s.

I configured AERO wheels (Jan 29th) and got my VIN today (68xx). Midnight Silver paint. Aeros are coming now!

Wait is over! Got VIN today; 70xx. Ordered 1/24, silver, 18" aero. No delivery date yet.

When did you guys notice the VINs? First thing in the morning, or do they add them throughout the day? My F5 key is getting worn out and I reserved Feb 2nd with same config as novoxx...

got mine mid-day. my delivery specialist called me to notify me.

Just noticed in another forum that a reservation holder who configured on 2/14, white non-aero got assigned a VIN number overnight. So continues to be aero wheel configuration that is the hold up at this point.

I know the wait sucks, but at this point I get the sense that they are rectifying many of the manufacturing issues that early recipients saw. Many issues are software related, but many are simply manufacturing issues (i.e. my cracked pano roof). At the end of the day, I am happy to wait for this next M3 a little longer to ensure that they have most of issues have been ironed out--otherwise, it just winds up being multiple trips to the service center. I feel like I've gone every week for the last 6 weeks for some issue or another. I don't mind since I knew what I was getting into, but certainly wouldn't want that for the next M3 delivery.

Joined the "waiting for VIN" club a week ago after ordering my black/aero/FSD Model 3 on 2/22. Just found this thread this morning and read through all 11 pages. Some really insightful stuff here - much appreciated.

I also couldn't resist refreshing my Tesla account half a dozen times while reading through these posts. Sounds like I'll either get lucky and end up on the end of the next black/aero batch, or it could be a while as January/early-Feburary orders get their VINs and they run the cycle around again.

No calls from anyone at Tesla yet. This part of the wait is excruciating!

Ugh I want my Black! I ordered 10 days after you though. So weird that the black vins going out are still so low. Spreadsheet has the highest black car at 58xx.

Just looked at my first 3 in person at lunch time today. It was a black/Aero sitting byTesla in Springfield. 26XX vin. The wait sucks.

Did you check earlier today and have no VIN, then rechecked just now and found one? I'm trying to figure out if the VINs show up throughout the day or if it's only updated once a day.

I checked this morning around 11, no vin.

Then got a phone call right before I posted telling me it appeared about 20 minutes prior.

It has not even undergone final inspection yet. Pushing for delivery saturday

Congratulations! Looks like Feb 14 wave has a good week or so before VIN assignment!
