They just did a walk around inspection of inside and out. Made me open/close the sunroof (known issues with F150 sunroof). Said that as long as it was mechanically sound when I came back for the sale it would be the same quote. They don't drive it until you're ready to sell. Luckily I didn't just sell it last Friday thinking I was getting my car on Sunday!
I ordered a model 3 but picking up at Raleigh . I got my vin on Saturday morning . My edd still says 3-11 weeks with no option to schedule even though I finalized my down payment . My SA texted me last night and told me to accept the new Tesla vision terms which I did when I first got my vin . I will probably go the the service center tomorrow to see when I can schedule delivery . Meanwhile my trade in offers are “ conveniently” expiring 
Who is your SA at Raleigh we might have the same one lol . I am also curious about the tax question . My offer from Carmax is about 1k higher but if I trade in with tesla I wonder if it would balance out since trade in ( credit )value doesn’t get taxed or am I wrong
From what I’ve read, yes, you’re right. NC vehicle sales tax is 3% if you want to calculate if it’s worth it to trade in.
My range is June 10 - 16 and I've been trying to schedule since Friday night.Got my delivery notification today! June 8th was the soonest available, even though the range was June 1-7, all good. Had to push out to the 11th as I am out of town until then. The waiting really sucks!
I really don't want to wait until the 16th so I hope something is available earlier.
The way that I understand it there are two different 'fees' that are assessed at the sale of vehicle that are based on value. The 3% 'highway use tax' that is based on the total cost of the vehicle minus trade, and is set by the state. So you can calculate the full cost at 3%, then the cost after trade at 3% and see what that difference is. The other fee is the Motor Vehicle Property Tax, which is based off of the total value of the vehicle and charged per county, so isn't affected by trade.
I will caution that this all based off of my internet research here in Wake county, so YMMV.
I reached out Friday night after getting my VIN and still waiting to hear. Sounds like all the times are getting booked up.
I did the same. I sent a text to the SA on Saturday and then on Monday morning and did not get the text from Tesla to set up a delivery time until around 1:00 on Monday afternoon. I am not sure how the system works, but I have not heard from a SA since I got my vin- only automated responses/interactions.
So I just went by the Raleigh service center ! Y’all need to come pick up your model Ys because there are plenty there . I saw many model 3s as well . I saw one very nice red model y with white interior and induction wheels . Sadly My car is still in Texas on a rail car !!!!!

I am curious on how long it usually takes in transit from Texas .Got a call from my SA this morning. She wanted to confirm my registration and insurance information. She also let me know that my Tesla is at the SC and will be undergoing a 30 point inspection and will be looked over by a service manager before delivery. I asked about panel gaps and other concerns, she said those should be caught by the inspection and that they’ve delivered hundreds of MYs recently and most don’t have issues.
I got mine too, and I think it just won't let you book until after the last day of your EDD. Talked with my SA and he said he'd let me know if it got there sooner and I could schedule another pickup time.Got my delivery notification today!
