Performance Waiting Room

I called Cherry Hill, NJ this morning. Really helpful -- kudos to them! The person I spoke to searched PA/NJ out to Boston, Chicago, and Texas, and said there are no Performance cars in stock, and in fact no LR or AWD either -- only SR(+). He did see models in pre-production, which he estimated as 1-2 weeks out from arriving at a center. So, for what it's worth, the message to the East Coast was that there's nothing out there right now and keep waiting.

Report of a P3D ordered April 6, shipped from CA, and already delivered. Right next to me. Mine is still no ETA. Aargh!

That was one of the ones that was in inventory in Fremont, when I asked about options for faster delivery that color combo ones one of the ones they had available. It’s possible that car was built for an order placed earlier in Q1 where the buyer canceled/financing fell through after they built the car. There were a few seemingly random combinations of the M3P and that was one of them. Trouble is they might have matched a recent order to that VIN rather than someone waiting which would be frustrating if I was waiting on the Gray/White. Good news for the person that recently placed the order and didn’t have to wait though.

White on White M3PD ordered 4/4/19 on Florida.
Still waiting on new info; thought 2 weeks since ordering
I ordered for autopilot and self driving together $8000.

Wondering if changing order will give me the discount and preserve my spot in line.

They should update the pricing without you having to edit anything.. eventually.
Thanks Craven I called Tesla and I was told they would change it but pricing would not be reflected until weeks from now when I get the car.
Curious since many have gotten update online.
When they mentioned "weeks" it will put me around 1 month since placing order. Hopefully new hardware will be in the vehicle plus badges/spoiler etc. and worth the wait plus the price adjustment which are significant savings.

Ordered Red/white PM3 with AP and FSD on 3/28. I haven't received VIN or delivery estimate yet. I did get a price adjustment last Wednesday after bugging my Tesla contact several times. I would be surprised if you had to wait weeks or until delivery. I also hope that HW3 and spoiler/badges are in mine when it is eventually delivered (better be this quarter before the tax credit halves again).

Ordered a Blue/White with FSD on 4/12. Currently in Southern California. No VIN yet. Can't wait to see if this is a real replacement for my M3. I'm doing the experiment where I plan on tracking both cars as a true test to see if I should sell the M3. I'm sure in the long run I will miss having a manual transmission, but we shall see.

Not that it helps anyone, but maybe if I type it out it will make me more patient. Ordered Blue/White with FSD on 3/26. I did get a VIN 2 days after the order with a delivery date on 4/2. The car was apparently coming from Boston. Kept getting pushed back until 4/9 I called because no one contacted me and they said the car couldn't be sold because it was a customer return. Someone never marked its returned status in the system. had to close out the loan and everything.

I have a manual transmission 535i M-Sport for sale right now. Same nagging issue with me.

As an update my Tesla account is showing the discount already on the future purchase price. :)
Interesting to see so many ex BMW 5 series owners moving to Tesla
I am coming out of a 2016 M5 lease to Tesla. I have owned a myriad of manual and non manual //M cars for the past decade and I have to admit test driving the MP3D blew my mind!
Hopefully ownership will not disappoint since I am planning on purchasing this car for the long run.
Tesla community is so helpful.

Funny to see the April topic on M3P waiting.. @destructure00 and I were in the March one... it worked as a support group as we waited.
Mine took exactly one month to be delivered. Ordered 03/02, took delivery 04/02.
I am in Texas and had a trade-in, which added a little complexity. I also rejected a car they offered for being 2018 model instead of 2019..

In the March group we noticed most of us received the VIN around the same time, with only a few taking delivery early. It seems they do it in batches. Let's see how it works for you guys. Good news is that after receiving a VIN, everything tends to happen fairly quickly.

For folks coming from BMW: my wife had a BMW X6 V8. It was a quick and luxurious car and I was afraid the M3 would be a step down. It really wasn't, and the performance of this car is really hard to describe, I still can't drive aggressively for too long without getting nauseated. From 0-60, I don't think you will easily find someone in the road that can really go faster.. It's supercar territory for sure.

Thanks for keeping our excitement and hope alive! I think the prevailing theme is Tesla tried to get as many March #s out to help with Q1 but the shift to Q2 production is currently focused on EMEA and APAC due to transport times. Would be good news if they paused on those to fullfil North America shipments (in between batches) but suggestions seem like they may do the Performance batch just before the end of Q2.

Reason for optimism: the Cherry Hill guy said he could see Performance models for the Midwest/East Cost in "pre-production," which he said meant 1-2 weeks until delivery. So hopefully there's a wave not that far away. The other thing that gives me hope is the 2-week estimate on the configurator. Say what you will about the accuracy of Tesla information; I think it's unlikely that they'd continuously quote "2 weeks" if they only did a production run at the end of every quarter.

I declined my 3/30 delivery due to cosmetics/alignment/other issues, and was back in the wait list.

Got a text last night that my tentative delivery appointment is 4/30.
Overnight, the full final MVPA PDF appeared in my account with VIN.

I just called to ask what's the status and if earlier delivery is possible, and the delivery specialist said that's indeed my VIN, and car status is "en route" and for me to call back in a few days to ask again.

Should be a quick transit to get from Fremont Factory to Fremont Delivery right?:D

I'm in the SF bay area.

"K" VIN, 237XXX

Thanks, that might have been me. 27-Mar order blue/white, got VIN yesterday (2019) picking up 20-Apr in Oakville Ontario.

Picked it up today, it was manufactured in March-2019, bodywork looks to be in good shape, interior has a couple of black marks that look like they'll come out with a quick wipe tomorrow. Dual motor badging with no spoiler as expected. The dealership was in a bit of a rush during the handover due to it being a long weekend so it was very brief.

The car is awesome though, beyond my expectations and the acceleration is far more aggressive than i remember during the test drive ! The kids are loving the 'easter egg' features such as the fart machine and the Atari mode ... its a car with a lot of character. Only first day but i'm very impressed so far ... hang on in their guys, it's worth the wait !

Apologize for crappy picture, weather was terrible throughout the day.

Congrats! That Blue with White was my second choice, looks so elegant and sporty.

Not surprised about the March 2019 VIN. Have we seen anyone get a Performance April VIN?
