I have found that if you have a weak WiFi signal, I can connect immediately when I turn WiFi off, and connect Via 3G.

Can't connect to the car through the app. Get the "Contacting car, may take few minutes" message, then times out since last night. Anyone else having issues?

Just had the same problem for the last few days. Did a reboot of the screens and now it works fine again.

Just rebooted both and the problem persists from last night.

update - a few hours later it started working again. It must have been a server problem.

I've had random instances of the app's failure to connect to the car since day one, even when I'm at home with the iphone online via WiFi and the car sitting in the garage with good 3G signal strength. I haven't figured out any pattern.

Sometimes the server that the app connects seems to go down so maybe that's it.

Between the iPhone version and Android version of the Tesla app - is there any difference between the two? Does one have functionality that the other doesn't have?

It's been a while since I tested both platforms, but I believe there aren't any feature differences between the two. (they behave in ever-so-slightly different ways, but same functionality)

I only have Android devices, but this is what I gathered from this forum and my own experience with the Android version...

The iPhone version got an update. (http://www.teslamotorsclub.com/show...ne-Android-app?p=300684&viewfull=1#post300684) which included scheduled charging awareness. The Android version never got any updates and still doesn't know about scheduled charging.

The app is overdue for an update, if nothing else but to match the battery charging options now available in the car. Would love to be able to roll the side windows down 1" from the app.

Absolutely. And how about displaying the ideal range properly. Now it says ideal range on the app but actually displays the rated range. We've had an update since this bug crept in (used to be correctly displayed) and they didn't even fix it in the last update. Can't be that difficult!

I don't see any update today on the app store. The last update I see is version 1.1.1 from April 19 which had as its only change "improved support for special characters in login credentials". Sounds like what you are saying is in the update you are talking about. Are you sure it is from today? Can you provide the version number?

I I guess my phone is acting up. I downloaded the Tesla app last week and I just received the 1.1.1 update you are talking about today. This is very strange. Sorry for the confusion

Today was the first day I realized that the android app only shows when the drives door is open. It does not show any other doors open, at least on my phone.

Not on mine, I can leave the doors open for a while and the display on the app doesn't change. The only one that does is the driver side. But if I look at it on my iPad, they all respond.

Speaking of latency, has anyone noticed that the app has been less responsive than usual over the last few days? Specifically, mid-day on the 4th of July the app would not vent the roof or turn on climate control. I was envisioning barbecue conversations across the US "Can your car do this? Hey! Why isn't this working?!"

I had a hard time on the 4th as well. I got through eventually but their servers were very slow to respond.
