Sometimes I thnk the bass is low, but then another song comes on and bumps me so I just leave the eq flat with the center position in my seat. Best stereo I've ever heard in a car by far and slacker is great for playing sny song out there even if the quality is a bit lower than my USB.

I've had custom stereos before with huge jl subs for comparison.

A problem I have with my current car stereo is that it connects to my iPhone over bluetooth, and directs the phone's audio output to the car, even if I'm listening to radio.
My stereo won't "mix" the phone's audio with the current audio program. So I miss alerts and rings from the phone.
Can a current Model S owner describe their experience with iPhone's bluetooth audio and their Model S?

I can comment on android Bluetooth. I only hear my phone ring from the phone and not the speakers. I do see a big popup to accept the call though. I thought it was strange it didn't ring through the speakers, but I'm sure it can be updated. I would love to hear alerts so I can check my email and texts in the web browser via voice.google.com.

Thanks, contaygious. Do you play music from your android phone through the car stereo? On my iPhone, to play music through the car stereo requires the phone to redirtect its audio to the bluetooth device. Android may do this in a different way than iPhone.

A cleaning could be at least offered, it definitely wouldn't hurt to ask. Tesla should also cover the area on future vehicles just prior to shipment to prevent that from happening to anyone else.

I wonder if Tesla is looking into a (slight) re-design on future vehicles to reduce or eliminate the issue.

Regarding the Blind Spot comments, I've noticed that the rear view camera has virtually a 180 degree field of view, which, at least as far as I have observed, fully covers/eliminates the blind spot, especially, if the standard rear view mirrors are adjusted correctly.

Two problems just ocurred :

1) I pushed on the driver side door handle to see if it would pop out without the key fob in proximity . The door opened!
2) I'm getting an error message: "Service car soon. Car may stop unexpectedly."

Anyone have an idea what's happening here? I got two friends that want to buy Model S but are waiting to see car reliability.

7) Bass - When the EQ is adjusted, the stereo sounds fantastic. Our Hybrid Escalade only sounds a fraction of a hair better and sometimes I question that.
I'd be interested to know how you set your EQ. Mine is flat so far and I'm pretty pleased with it.

1) Upon delivery, B pillar was and still is smudged with dirt/oil or something. I had to take delivery of a smudged/dirty car!
That photo is pretty bad! Wow. I had much more subtle smudges on my upholstery in two places. I pointed them out to the DS, and since the car is now in for service on my sunroof, I asked them to please address them while it's there. This was a factory delivery! I think they need a bit more attention on protecting the interiors.

2) I'm getting a low windshield wiper fluid level error and I haven't used any yet.
Yes, this is a software bug and nothing more. Just ignore it for now, it will be fixed.

Never mind I figured it out. Regarding error message, the car seems to have restarted this morning and there is no error message anymore. This is what happens when you don't get a delivery specialist in Texas.

I think the stained leather is completely unacceptable for a $100,000 car. Ideally, this car should be delivered without any bumps or scratches, and if there are, Tesla should remedy the problem. It's not the fact that there are, but Tesla's response would be very telling in this scenario. I would push them very hard.

This area -- the B pillar -- really needs to be redesigned. I stopped by the Oak Brook store last night, and looked at the driver's side B-pillar and it looked hideous. Completely frayed stitching. Stained and worn down leather. You can say these cars have a lot of traffic, but this is really a bad sign.

That "Service car soon. Car may stop unexpectedly." error message pops up on occasion. Each time I called to ask, they said it was a bug and fine if it went away quickly. If it comes on and stays then then I'd probably be more worried. Obviously, this bug should get fixed as showing this message when nothing is wrong will just alarm people unnecessarily.

The positives are too numerous to count. Seriously, it was love at first drive.

The Green color is much better than I remember form my rainy Get Amped experience. It is a deep, rich green that stands out but isn't flashy.

The seats feel great to me. I love how much I am able to customize. Setting up preferences and profiles was intuitive. It is a joy to drive. I have the base, but am still shock at how stupid fast it is off the line. I can't imagine what a performance it like. I've only driven the base, and it is quite peppy!

The negatives are few, but real. I was, originally, ok with the minimalist interior, and didn't see it as much of an issue. A few days driving around and I can tell you it needs more interior storage. Seriously. I'm definitely getting the console when it comes out.

Also, the location of the windshield washer well is possibly the dumbest thing on the car. It is blocked by a strut for the frunk, and seems impossible to fill without filling the frunk. I went and got a small funnel. Not pleased about this at all. For over $80k I shouldn't have to buy a funnel to fill the washer well.

The only other thing that stands out as a miss, so far, is the charge port not self closing. I keep leaving it open! It is the only non-automated thing on the car, and stands out as a miss in comparison to the rest of this wonderful vehicle.

I've heard a couple people say they've left it open which surprised me. Did you (or others that have left the charge port open) regularly also leave your gas cap door open?

Not having the car, maybe it's not an apt comparison, but it seems a similar thing in my head (disclaimer: things that go on in my head often do not match reality).

It should become 2nd nature but I have almost left mine open/ I was in the car already and saw the center console showed it open.

I think it just blends in with the reflector on it as you walk past from the back side when it is open

Well, I agree what you said makes sense. But I was surprised how much I leave the cover on my Volt open. I guess the muscle memory is such that its different enough to subconsciously leave it open. I dont do it much nowadays, but early on, I did it at least every other day.

I think you are right about the muscle memory. I also need to work on my timing of pulling out the charger after hitting the button. I often pull too soon and have this fear it is never coming out. I'll likely practice the routine in the coming days to build that memory. Like driving with regen, it takes getting used to, but not too long.
