AKA "Stop having nuanced opinions based on facts." I mean I could just blanket hate but that's not my style.

Your “facts” have thus far been a complete and total blanket defense of Tesla for setting wholly and completely unrealistic expectations four years ago with the excuse of “it’s been four years.”

There’s no nuance or critical thinking on display, just blind allegiance.

Jason with an entertaining review of the Cybertruck:

I’ll have to wait for a tear down but as an automotive designer who has some insight into the process of creating an automobile:

While I do agree that automotive media is highly problematic for a number of systemic reasons, the best ones have more of a 30K POV of automotive history.

While I see the appeal of chasing raw data numbers—and Tesla itself has made itself an easy target here with the drag races marketing campaigns-within this review there is a subtle sense of refinement that has been lacking from Teslas products overall. For the European/Japanese loyal buyers who want a different approach (and while extremely polarizing, most will agree this IS very different vs the establishment) this might be a very key element moving forward to draw and retain buyers.

Hyperbole aside, there was a another key point Jason mentioned-like other Teslas, the Cybertruck seems to FEEL like the future-and while I love the Silverado EV (we spent over 200 miles in one, a very lovely product) and Rivians flagships (a bunch of then FCA talent jumped ship to work on the RTs-squint and you can see Jeep DNA in the rear profile-beautiful work) they are very representative of ‘Legacy think.’

While this obviously has appeal for a lot of potential buyers, the Cybertruck is absolutely going to speak to the G Wagon/Urus buyer, and not everyone one of those can make the stretch to those. I’m not sure if a few miles of more range is going to sway that group of buyers.

Lastly, historically volume provided, Tesla has historically lowered its prices as it’s produced more products. Tesla marketing-er, product specialist fed Jason a line about the CTs motors being cheaper to produce and less wiring used throughout the design.

This is a signal that the company is projecting that it can and will lower cost as it ramps up, just as it did with the Model 3/Y, and S/X imho. The process within the company-especially the way engineering and manufacturing are aligned internally-almost guarantees it.

Really disappointed. My plan was to sell my 2023 MY and my 2016 Silverado and purchase the Cybertruck. 4WD is a must but 80K plus tax is making a purchase out of reach. We can always dream that prices will drop and Federal tax incentives will increase but that seems pretty unrealistic.
Originally I thought a price drop is out of the question, but reading others thoughts and seeing how they've dropped the cost of their current models. They might be charging so much for the first bunch. 3 years down the road $80k for AWD could be $60k. I'm not holding my breath though it's already been 4 years since the reveal.

Nov 2019, he actually said… this is the pricing and now you can order one.

lets not forget he stated the specs and range.

100% fail

And the clown said in the Jay Leno video, recently, at the 1:45min mark - “that final Tesla products are always more/better than the concept vehicle…. Unlike all other manufacturers… “ or something like that. What a load of lying BS! Clearly he knew that wasn’t true when he said it because final trucks were already on the road. What a lying sack of …. Potatoes 🥔

P.S.

Love it. Called this out yesterday and was stoned here by fanboys….

“Plus, the Cybertruck raced a base trim 911, which has a 0-60 time of about four seconds.”

More Charlatan games. Next, we will learn how he put his thumb on the scale with that marketing 40,000 lb sled pull… wait for it…

Negative reports are increasing; found four leads than 24 hours old already this morning, and it’s only 7:30am…. Sure, there are also some positive shill and influencer reports as well. Seems about 50-50 of each type…

Don't worry, Tesla always milks the early adopters and lowers prices for masses later. Right now they are trying to keep its price up to avoid osborning the X which is totally obsolete after the release of CT. Also the CT has three motors and 850hp while Plaid has same motors and 1000hp - my bet is they will either sell a quicker one down the line or sell a boost option, but they are holding back to avoid ruining Plaid's lunch while they cannot manufacture these.

They’re not the same motors. The rear motors on the cyberbeast are induction motors. Plaid has permanent magnet motors in all 3 positions.

Truth - Milk all of the shill, influencers and fanboys - that's how Elon treats his loyal base!

The whole issue with the price is that it was nothing but a Go Fund me for Tesla.

Musk knew the die hards would quickly put down $100 no matter what “concept” they put out… speaking of concepts, we can put to rest that Tesla doesn’t put out concepts.

It’ll continue to happen. For the Model 2 he’ll promise $25k everyone will put down their $100, 5 years later starting at $35k.

At some point we will learn to be patient and wait instead of wanting to be the “first”

Cancelled almost 72 hours ago and still waiting on my refund

Same, still waiting.... there were reports from some member here who canceled months ago and they are still fighting Tesla for their $100. Please let us know if you ever get your $100 back. I will reciprocate.
