Rear view mirror cracking

Thought I saw a thread about this way back when...

I noticed this not long ago. It's been getting worse. I don't notice it in the day, but at night I do. Perhaps you can see it in the photo. Hard to focus on it. The grainy appearance of the seat in the mirror is due to the cracking.

It looks more like dust to me. Microfiber towels can sometimes leave that behind. I don't see any cracking.

I'd say it's dusty, dirty, or scratched. But doesn't look like cracks at all from that picture.

Not dust. Not due to cleaning improperly. It looks dusty in the picture, but with the naked eye, one can clearly see cracking.

Could be some sort of delamination, I would show it at your next service appt.

I had this on two of my mirrors. manufacturing defect. they will replace it.

Was it the appearance of micro-fine cracks under the surface?
