My EDD was Sept 11 - Sept 17 and 3 days now into that window waiting for a VIN to roll off the production line in Fremont my EDD has just shifted to November 9 - January 4. Welp, maybe matrix lights will be available then and the price will drop. This company sometimes... it'll just throw all of the accessories into the closet and think about this again in Q4. *Sigh*

Plaid, Black/White, FSD, 20"
I think yours has to be a placeholder and will still come. A 6 day window that you were in and they push you out to next quarter? I still feel like that new EDD for both of us is not real. I have also noticed that the Tesla account website is really slow today. Anyone else notice this?

Just another data point, ours was a 08/21 order MX LR 7 seater. Our EDD got move from 9/13-10/4 to 11/2-12/14 today. This is the forth (yes, forth!!!) time we got moved from being inside an EDD window starting in June when we received the trade-in text from Tesla. Exactly once a month so far ...

The bottom line is you can't really trust anything Tesla is telling you until you have your hands on the yoke >.<||||

Oh boy, this makes me nervous re: anything having to do w/ edd. THanks for sharing, definitely helpful to set realistic expectations.

I am a bit surprised that you had an Edd window in June, considering you ordered the same config (7 seater) as me and mine was ordered 2 months before yours. But this is Tesla so not surprised by the unpredictability. I hope your Edd moves back up to this month, may just be a temporary set back prior to a VIN for you, we’ve seen that with others on this forum also.

Thanks for the support. I know I should be more grateful that I have had a short EDD but still stings when it is taken from you. I'm hoping for a snap back of my delivery date to still get a Q3 car. Though maybe the Q4 cars will have automatic frunks at least since the app seems to suggest those are coming soon.
Yes, hopeful of some new features but as I told you before, I have lost hope. It will be a surprise if I see any new features

I don't think EDD makes any sense until you get a VIN. I have had many EDDs that kept changing over the last 1.5 years.

6/20/21 Order, LR/Blue/Black/6/20/NoFSD, current EDD 9/16 - 10/21, trade in text received on 9/8/22. San Diego delivery.

Since I'm probably on the verge of a VIN, I'm working the trade-in. My current X is 2018/75D/White/Black/6/20/FSD/20Kmiles which I bought when my lease ended on 12/21 for $55K. Offers I have received:

Tesla $69,300 (expires on 10/8/22), previous Tesla offer was $78,500 (expired on 8/29/22). OUCH!
Carvana $64,301
Vroom $57,500 (they must be drunk)
Carmax wants to see it before quoting but I'm not optimistic given the other 3rd party offers

I will probably go with the Tesla trade-in providing I can get the new X before my offer expires next month.
VINNED!

Received my VIN today: 7SAXCBE55NF3614X

Saw the VIN pop up in the Tesla app this morning, and received a VIN email almost simultaneously. LR/Blue/Black/6/20/NOFSD, San Diego CA. Home delivery was the only option presented so they are coming next Tuesday. I was given a 3 day window to accept delivery (M-W) and I selected Tuesday. I will update the spreadsheet tonight.

Here is the timeline working backwards and counting days to delivery to help others estimate days remaining at different milestones:

Scheduled Delivery (9/20/22, 0 days)

VIN Assigned, delivery appointment made, car arrival at delivery center (9/14/22, -6 days)

Estimated delivery 3 week window of 9/17/22-10/8/22: (9/12/22, -8 days)

Trade in Text Message: (9/8/22, -12 days)

Estimated delivery 5 week window of 9/16/22-10/21/22: (8/29/22, -22 days)

Estimated delivery 8 week window of 9/3/22-10/29/22: (5/21/22, -122 days)

Profile Completion: (10/15/21, -340 days)

Ordered: (6/20/21, -457 days)

Do not accept home delivery: they will not allow you to inspect the vehicle before taking delivery and there's no guarantee that Service will repair any problems with the car.

Almost hit my EDD and then changed to this for the last 10 days. Really surprised it hasn’t updated to anything. This is getting old and the window for EOQ 3 is shrinking fast…

July 2021 order delivered today in Portland!
A tip bit of information, delivery specialist were saying that they have seen nothing but long range models come through the past couple weeks. When we were taking delivery, there was also 4 Other similar configurations o X lined up ready for delivery. Definitely EOD long range push.

After Q3 2022 my guess is that therw will be somewhere some month gap in deliveries of MX and MS to US and Canada caused on building a batch for Europe and there will be as backup those inventory cwrs for sale. Tesla seems to build this more like batches than fifo order so when to shift over to EU spec car, they do some biģger batch same way

Picked the car up today.
I was there ontime but the car was not.
It was at an offsite lot so I had to wait with my little kids for at least 20minutes for them to go fetch it which was super annoying.
Weather was crappy so it was hard to check stuff in the pouring rain but overall seemed ok-ish.
No charger or Fobs (expected but still not pleased with Tesla weaseling out of this stuff)
The vehicle prep was so-so, it had plastic protection still on the dash and screens, floor mats installed poorly or upside down, lots of glue from stickers inside and out, masking tape still inside the car, other tape on the exterior, the wheel inserts were not installed.

So other than those non existant customer service annoyances, there are only a few mechanical things needing fixed.

HVAC Vent in the 3rd row has NO airflow from the Left, but some airflow on the Right side. So I put a ticket in.

Doors.
-FWD on the right side doesn't sit flush when closed, too rainy to take a picture today but I will take one later.

-The front drivers and passengers doors require MUCH more force to close than on my 2018 P100D.
The P100D doors will power all the way closed with a gentle push.

On the new X its almost like you have to slam the doors to get them to close, or else they don't get close enough to suck themselves shut the rest of the way.

Does anyone else here have really hard to close doors?
Or does anyone else have an old and new X and feel the same/different?

Thanks guys, what a crazy long ride this has been.
The car does drive much better than my P100D, more agile feeling like the model 3
Here is what I'm talking about with force required to close the front doors.
2022 on the Left, and 2018 on Right side.
Anybody else experience this?

EDD is just what it says...an estimate. Owners will really only know when the get a VIN, and are contacted by a delivery advisor as to when to come in to pick up your car. Even that has some wiggle room, as the Delivery Center will do a final check over and prep prior to delivery. If they find anything amiss, they will reach out to you to reschedule. Only after final inspection will you know pretty much for sure when to schedule delivery. Then that will be on short notice, so try to remain flexible till the last moment.
