Got vinned 4/12/2021 with VIN (NF337XXX). Still no updates and my range of 5 days keeps getting shifted by 1 since 4/12. So 4/12-419 -> 4/13-4/20 -> .... -> Today it's 4/25-4/29.

This is for long range, 6 seater, white on white with 22", no FSD, ordered 4/12/2021. I'm in Bay Area, picking up at fremont.

Texted the 510 # and still saying it's in manufacturing at factory.
I was vinned 4/7, it was ready for pickup in Sacramento on 4/22. Hopefully you're close!
 
I think my wife has lost her mind but not sure. She wants to sell our Tundra for enough to cover sales tax offset right now. Once it sells then order a M3P or MYP in hopes that it'll be here before the X. Then once the X is here sell the existing M3LR that has 30k miles. Note, the new M3 or MY would be my kids who is Jr in HS so I don't think anything "P" is a good idea.
 
hello ladies and gentlemen... I see this place is still rocking at 1600 pages now wow! Figured I would give you guys an update since you can probably use the distraction more than any other threads here:

So since the kids had spring break last week, we decided on a whim to drive down to our Tampa house and spend the week there, going back and forth to the parks in Orlando and visiting some friends, etc...

The trip is roughly about 1,100 miles each way. This would be our first big trip in an EV so I was a bit nervous and making sure I had everything in order.... mapped it out on ABRP, made sure I had plugshare all set up, etc.. I was also a little concerned with the issues I had been reading about like the car freaking out at superchargers or the "rear restraint" error, etc...

I am happy to report that I had zero issues with the car (just a small issue but no fault of the car... more on that later)

Driving down I wanted to follow ABRP but between getting the kids settled, running to the bathroom, grabbing something to eat, etc... etc... I didn't really have time to mess around with and override so I just went with Tesla's guidance, and it really wasn't that bad.... One thing I learned though it seems like it overestimates your range left at destination... so for example it would tell me I will arrive with about 5% which I am comfortable with.... and in reality I was arriving with 16-20% I just let it be and continued to charge until it said 5%... I'll mess around with that next trip..... But overall the trip was smooth, the car performed amazingly.... Only small complaint is that the car would shake a little when going over 85, perhaps that has to do with the quality of the road I was on?

I have a nema 14-50 on the property in FL so I would just charge at home, with the mobile connector I was getting 26/mph which surprised me, I was expecting more like 17 or so.

Now for the issue and the one downer of the trip.. while driving some kind of metal sheet fell off a truck ahead of me, I took over for autopilot to swerve and avoid it... and I succeeded for the most part but I was just a hair too late.... the sheet must have clipped my wheel and now I have a pretty noticeable chip in my front driver side wheel :( anybody have any recommendations on what I could use to paint that?

Driving back up was more of the same, I once again followed the Tesla guidance... a 17 hour trip took about 20 hours... but I did hit some gnarly pockets of traffic, and we made one stop that lasted about 45min in order to eat lunch so overall not bad at all...

I am usually the type that wants to get to my destination as fast as possible with as little stops as possible... but doing the EV life was actually not bad, the stops helped me stretch out and keep awake.

TLDR: took a 2200 mile road trip this past week... Car performed great... none of the issues plaguing other MXs.... clipped a metal sheet on the highway small chip in wheel... Tesla navigation/charging suggestions worked great.

we have a friend who changed their MY order. kept the same color, changed 5 to 7 seats, and removed FSD. her delivery date got pushed further out. the biggest issue for them was, the base model price of the car went up by $1000 because the the price has gone up since the originally placed the order.

my wife wanted to change our MX 7 seater to 6 and keep everything else. our rep said if i can log in to the tesla acct and there's still a modify/edit order button, then it "might" be ok with no price change. he will double check if we can still modify/edit. but when i went in my account, the button is gone. he can override our order but we would have to pay the $15K price increase of the base model. we decided to leave our order as is.

so before making a change, make sure the price of the base model will be the same unless that's not a big deal to you or the changes you want to make is worth the price difference. and i believe the order date will change. i'm not sure about the mobile connector.
You can modify your order and keep your base price by emailing [email protected].
Do not go through your SA. I tried going through my SA and he said I would have to pay current pricing. Emailed order support and Jorge made the changes.

Road trips are so much fun! We took a trip from Dallas to Billings, Montana in my husband's M3P. Although we were cramped we didn't have any charging issues. There was one stretch from Montana to Wyoming that got a little dicey, had a strong headwind and ended up at the SC with 3%. In Colorado we looped through Silverton and stopped at an RV park to charge. All-in-all there's a great network of charging stations.
Can't wait to get our MX and do more road trips!

Wondering the Shanghai lockdown will slow down the already slow production of MX? Do any of the parts for the MX come from suppliers located in Shanghai?
This is how they get you on subscription. I have hot spot on my phone that can tether and wifi when parked at home, yet most cars requires mothly fee, special feature fee (FSD), dash cam subscription fee , emergency subscription fee etc......and if you have multiple vehicles, it all adds up to $$$
Some campgrounds and some rural areas do not have WiFi or normal cellular connections but Tesla is able to connect. Not sure how. A consideration for us in really rural places.
 
I'm taking the X from Houston to Colorado this summer. The wife is pissed at my decision and claims we'll be turning a usually 15 hour trip to 20. But. I. Must. Test. It!
Long distance trip in EV will take longer, but it’s a lot more enjoyable. The key is to treat the trip as part of the vacation. We have premium connectivity and we really enjoy watching movies during supercharging stop. As a matter of fact, oftentimes we let the charging to go longer than what’s suggested by the trip planner because we haven’t finished the show that we watch. Longer stop also gives you the opportunity to stretch and walk around a little. When you arrive at your destination, you usually feel more relaxed and not as tired.

One more thing. Because the auto pilot does most of the driving in the highway, I feel more rested when I arrive. I will not trade this with faster trip in ICE car anymore.

"When you get to be my age", it's nice to stop, plug in the car, use the restroom, get a snack or beverage, and walk around for a few minutes to stretch. Far better than the typical gas station pit stop where you feel the need to get back on the highway in under 5 minutes.

Thanks for such a quick reply. Looks like it is about 2” not as wide (mine is 47”) buy about an inch deeper. I’m getting about 17” front to back at middle, yours is probably close. Guess I’ll have to find another place for my woods/hybrids because they need 47”. Hopefully, I’ll find someone local to see if they can fit another way. (Anyone in Northern VA area that has a “22 plaid, please let me know!)

I've enjoyed road tripping in the Model 3... especially with FSD. I like stopping and using the bathroom and walking around at the supercharger stops. On my usual trips, all but one of the stops have decent food options. My only complaint: most of the chargers I end up stopping at are either 150 kW or (wince) 120 kW. Worse than the lower peak rate is the power-splitting if the location is more than half occupied. (This is along the I-81 corridor between PA and VA.) It's just how it works if I start from 80%+ and then my destination is well off the highway so I need to get there and back from the last supercharger. I could get 250 kW if I made an extra supercharger stop (meh) or routed via I-95 around/through Washington DC (OMG what a nightmare -- totally not worth it). Anyway, I just wish they could/would upgrade all the older superchargers. I like the breaks but I don't usually need a 30-minute break. :)

Having gotten a VIN, we finally took our oldest two kids and sat in a friend's non-refresh X. Everybody fits... but the back row... I think we might be in trouble in 3-4 years when our younger ones are bigger. We might need to see what larger electric familymobiles are on the market by then.

So if I get our X in July or hopefully earlier, we are planning a road trip from Chicago to Montreal (in lieu of summer air travel which is expected to be a nightmare). 1) Anyone have experience with this drive in regards to crossing the Canadian border and 2) how are the superchargers on the Canadian route from around Detroit to Montreal?

You won't have a problem North of the border. The Toronto-Montreal corridor has enough along the line, and it's okay between Detroit/Windsor and Toronto. As long as we don't have any more interruptions from protestors at the borders, you should be fine to travel. Montreal is a great place to go and visit.

Anything new is not a good idea for kids.

Nice! Almost my exact config, and ordered only one month before me. Hopefully this means the factory is back to building 6 seaters. I added your info to the spreadsheet. Did you really get VINned exactly 1 year after your order date? (i'm assuming the 2021 on your VIN date was a typo)

Half the fun is getting there. A good rule of thumb for life…

This is the big question for me. We have 4 kids so need the six seater. We have some road trips coming this summer, currently planned in the minivan because seems unlikely I’ll get my X by then :-(. But I’m wondering if it will even be comfortable for a road trip for six and if we can fit all the luggage.
