Analysts (except for Andrea James, it seems) are grossly underestimating the order book for stationary storage. JB Straubel has said himself many times that he's more excited about batteries than cars, and he's arguably the worldwide expert on EVs.

I'd like to hear the question asked at the shareholders' meeting about how many orders they've received for the Powerpacks, and how many 'deliveries' they will be able to make in 2016.[/

This is on many people's lists of possible questions. Hopefully it gets asked and answered in the allotted Q and A time.

Fortunately, Powerpacks and Powerwalls are not made to order. Just build them and ship them out.

I think Andrea James is also grossly underestimating stationary storage. $25/share for its energy storage business appears to be a gross under-estimate in the long run, although it may be accurate for the next year until the GF kicks in. I expect storage and automotive to be on par in short order and if its $330 for the automotive business (according to Andrea James), then it should be another $330 for storage in the next 2-3 years.

Beginning May 25 the Chicago White Sox message board (actually I’m a Cub fan, but I occasionally visit other teams’ boards) had a new off-topic thread started by a grandmother titled “Want to Buy a New Car; Suggestions Would be Appreciated”. Under my screen name “clarkstreet” I replied to the thread on May 30 suggesting the Tesla Model S. Afterward “purplehawk” and I traded several replies.

Yesterday (June 5) "purplehawk" replied that she had ordered a Model S:

“The test drive sealed the deal. It blew me away, quite frankly. I ordered the Model S with the 85kWh Performance battery. The extras I ordered are auto-pilot, premium interior and lighting, suspension, cold weather, hi-fi sound, and fancy rear seats since my grandkids are a lot bigger now than they used to be. I spent more than I originally intended, but this is a special car. I'm looking at an early July delivery date. They've already scheduled the installation of my home battery. I imagine the garage will be useless during the time they're here, but it'll be nice when all is said and done.

“I shall have to train myself NOT to continually look up at the stars when I'm driving at night. That all-glass roof is seriously awesome! I asked specifically to be able to drive it at night during my test run, and they were kind enough to take me out twice. We drove out of the city along Route 40, where artificial lights are few and far between on long stretches of the roadway, and again it just blew me away. The view was spectacular!

“Thank you, thank you, thank you for directing my attention to Tesla! Jim isn't here to share the joy of this purchase but I know he would be darned happy with my choice. He was a greenie to the very end of his life. Thanks again!”

Well done, Curt. Really cool.

What a wonderful testimony.
It made me consider the following: there has been considerable attention given - on this site as well in other locations - to the high costs that TM is absorbing in its Service Centers, in that many of us have received service after service after repair work either for free or at signiifcantly subsidized bottom line rates. Conversely, however, TM has so obviously benefited from its pleased customers being effective marketers....taken all together the Benefit/Cost ratio to TM is eye-wateringly magnificent.

On the other hand - Curt: aren't you one of those who doesn't yet have a Tesla? There's something wrong here!!!!! (you've made it up w/TSLA, evidently)

I think this is going to be one exciting week for all of us who are long Tesla!. I found an exciting raffle to win an Tesla online but I am not American so I cannot win :( $200 bucks a ticket and about 600 sold to date. Good odds in my opinion! Tesla Model S Raffle -- 1 Week Left

I was in Reno last week and saw billboards from a casino giving a Model S away as a prize, you can try you luck there. My wife thought it said "one a week" but neither if us are sure of that.

So they've already got $120,000 in selling the tickets. It had better be a nicely configured P85D (but I bet it isn't). And they will yet sell more tickets, probably. It doesn't sound like a good deal to me, for at least 599 people.

I wrote about this at the time, but I was at a conference in San Diego in April and they were giving one away too in a draw. Must have been 800-1,000 people at the live draw all buzzing with excitement.

There was one also being given away in one of those charity hospital contests as one of the grand prizes.

It looks like Tesla released some energy storage products and analysts are optimistic about it. https://www.tipranks.com/stocks/tsla How long will it take for these products to impact the bottom line?

Hi, welcome to the forum.

If you read the last 200 pages of this thread, and the thread named "Stationary Storage Investors thread" you'll learn just about anything worth knowing about how these products will impact bottom line significantly in the coming years.
